A vintage Andy Murray performance as he was down 3-1 in set 2 and then ripped off five straight games to take the match over Vasek 6-3 6-3. Pops played quite well, but Murray was just in the zone.
Happy Birthday to the greatest What If in Men's tennis Del Potro. Not many people can take out Nadal in the semi and then Federer in the finals of a slam. His forehead might be the greatest of all time, just insane power.

Interesting that there's no Medvedev or Oikos for Team Europe on day 1. I know the match point values go up on days 2 and 3 so that could be part of the Borg strategy. At any rate, Team World better make hay on Friday.
I'm jealous I never got to experience the rivalry. Everyone talks about how epic it was, heck they even made a movie about it lol.
It's really a shame that Bjorn retired so early. He was icy cool on the tennis court, but things weren't so great in his personal life (divorce and financial troubles etc.). Obviously, Stefan Edberg and Mats Wilander followed in Borg's footsteps, but Sweden has fallen off the tennis radar in recent years (you could say their Scandinavian neighbors Denmark and Norway have surpassed them of late).

Just thought I'd add that the Netflix doc on Mardy Fish (Untold: Breaking Point) is very well done.
Finally got around to watching this and I don't think I've ever seen any piece of media that has ever brought across a mental illness so well and explained it so clearly. Everyone should watch this.

Thiem let his physio therapist go yesterday and now he is implying they caused further injury to his wrist which caused him to miss the rest of the season.
