GST on new homes? Bad, but now good!
Capital gains taxes? Good, but now bad!
Caps on oil production? Good, bad, or is it good, actually bad, well depends who moron is speaking.

Were they free votes or were they whipped to vote along leadership direction? This is important, since leadership has drastically changed.

I supported the corporate tax increase, but again, if it has adverse effects on the economy and hurts more Canadians than it helps, reversing it was the correct thing to do. We need to look for smarter ways to reduce inequality and fund clean energy development.
Yeah sure. Weren't you the person posting the future of humanity is at stake if we don't cut emissions? I guess now that your team has changed (flip flopped), you have to stay in line with what they say.

This is what some of our posters are misunderstanding. In Canada the elected party members vote in line with their leader. The liberals you see supporting Carney are not the liberals you saw supporting Trudeau even if the faces look the same.

The more things change the more nothing has changed. Pretty quick move already.

The Century Initiative to massively increase immigration to get 100 million in Canada is on.

Bring on the low skill low wage bodies!

We need both Suits and Boots.

I do believe we need to turn our natural resources into ‘products’ more than we do, but thinking that the way to increase manufacturing is thru human labor is short sighted. We do not have the workforce to support it, nor do we have the services to support increasing the workforce.

Leading economies are automating.

I’d like to see ideas from politicians that leverage our natural resources and educated population into industry, that can support expanding our much needed service sector.

Well, we have 75 years to get there

The Century Initiative, co-founded by Mark Wiseman, calls for a massive increase in Canada’s immigration levels, with the ultimate goal of bringing the country’s population to 100 million people by the end of the century.

With this he is speaking directly to unions and their blue collar workforce. The unions want a government that will grow their industries and create jobs. They don't want more automation and increased output through those mechanisms.

I think it’s saying boots on the ground doing work not bankers in suits.

I’m a little surprised that Carneybis a globalist Banker isn’t the method of attack right now. There is no more establishment person then a Goldman Sachs, Bank of England, Bank of Canada, head of Brookfield alumni. This guy is the embodiment of the 1%. That the conservatives haven’t called him a globalist banker yet set seems like a miss.

We should be offering an accelerated path to citizenship for all their scientists, teachers, and medical professionals who are getting canned. Let's start advertising all over the US for a land without Donald Trump and anti-intellectual ####ery. Plus, poutine. We could score major win here.

They gotta save something for the actual campaign. There is no sense in blowing through all your ammo before the war has even started.

We can do that but we just went through a massive immigration crisis and we saw the results of brining in a lot of immigrants too quickly. Have we learned nothing over the last two years? The government is working on finally shutting the front door and you want to go and open up the patio door?

That is a 1.25% growth rate or essentially what we have been doing since the birth rate collapsed in the 70/80s

https://www.worldometers.info/world-...da-population/

So saying massively increasing immigration appears to be incorrect or at least should be rephrased as increasing immigration at the rate necessary to make up for declining birth rate while maintaining stable population growth.
