He was quietly very good for the club last year.

Nila Kasitati will be back with the Stamps in 2020.

Kasitati made 16 starts at right tackle for the Stamps in 2019 and was a key part of a Calgary offensive line that allowed the second-fewest sacks in the CFL. The 26-year-old University of Oklahoma product also started the West Semi-Final at right tackle.

“Nila earned the right tackle job heading into the 2019 season and improved throughout the year. I’m pleased that he has chosen to remain in Calgary and look forward to seeing him compete at our 2020 training camp,” Stampeders president and general manager John Hufnagel said in a statement.

“I wanted to stay in Calgary because I love the family atmosphere within the Stampeders organization. I also love winning and Huff and the staff obviously know how to do that. The team is all about competing to be the best every year and I love that,” Kasitati said.

Redblacks have released quarterbacks Jonathon Jennings and Will Arndt which likely means that discussions with Nick Arbuckle are proceeding well and the Stamps will hopefully be receiving the 1st overall pick in the upcoming draft. I'm thinking that Arbuckle is competing with Matt Nichols for the Redblacks starting job as the Bombers seem focused on going with Collaros as their No. 1 signal caller.

Would love to see some throw back uniforms for the 75th season. The red and white tops with silver pants would be fantastic. Ditch the black and go back to the old school uniforms.

Hard to argue with the man who was taking snaps and won games on the road against Calgary, Saskatchewan and Hamilton. I would have been pretty pissed to let him go and come back with Nichols.

That said, best of luck to Nichols. Winnipegs turn around, from a basement dwellar to champions, started with him saving everyones jobs in 2016. 1-4 and it honestly looked like MOS was going to be fired until he put in Matt and ever since then the Bombers have been winning more than losing. I could see him in Toronto.

Argos vs Riders in Touchdown Atlantic this year.

That’ll be an interesting combination. Rider fans and Martimers.

Yeah, it's probably down to the Argos and Redblacks at this point. I'm hoping Argos because that frees up Ottawa to sign Nick Arbuckle and the Stamps and Redblacks to swap first round picks.

The Alouettes will be paying Vernon Adams Jr. a boatload of money (if he hits all his bonuses, close to 1.5 million).

For signing on the dotted line Adams Jr. received $165,000 and could max out at $471,000 for the current year. The hard money for the 2021 campaign is $445,000 and has the ability to total $481,000 while 2022 checks in at $460,000 in hard money with $514,000 highly possible.

Tre Roberson signing with Chicago Bears. Didn't know Stamps released him. Good for him.

Danny Austin tweeted this out yesterday...Apparently there was significant interest in his services (and why not, he's a heck of a player) and he decided on Da Bears.

Danny Austin@DannyAustin_9
I'm told Tre Roberson was offered a contract from nearly 10 NFL teams.

Quite possible that he makes a decision within the next 24 hours or so.

Watched some of Tre's college highlights when he was a QB (first at Indiana, later at Illinois State). It was against lower competition but his speed was off the charts, and he had a pretty good arm too.

Expecting him to transition directly to defence was probably asking a lot, so his two years in the CFL definitely helped him prepare for another shot at the NFL. Looking forward to him pushing for a roster spot at the very least.

It appears the B.C. Lions are set to add quarterback Vinny Testaverde Jr. to their roster.

Testaverde's father, Vinny Sr., told Julie Stewart-Binks of SNY that his son will sign with the Lions on Wednesday.

Testaverde Jr. spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, one of his father's former teams, in training camp last summer, but did not make the team's 53-man roster. He attended the University of Albany for the 2018 season, throwing for 1,714 yards with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also spent time with Texas Tech and Miami (FL) during his collegiate career.

The 23-year-old was waived by the XFL's Tampa Bay Vipers last month.
