Maybe (hopefully) they are playing the long game and are planning to replace the current set with the retros at some point

People also forget that the flaming horsehead jersey was the team's away jersey for a period of time (3 seasons?). The striping from that jersey became a template for one of my favourite Flames jerseys, the red with a black C circa 2004.

I remember being very unhappy that they were going with a flaming black C at the time but it turned out to be a really good decision. They haven't made many good decisions since then!

It sounds beautiful already. For 2019-2020, let's just release the damn white variant and get on with it as our primaries already. (This coming from someone who has bought around 10 jerseys with the flags). Enough is enough.
