It's easy, I do it on playstation all the time

(Serious answer, a rebuilding team that takes Edmonton's third rounder with him. Rangers, Devils, Senators, Red Wings?)

More realistically, that 2nd buyout window worst case scenario

That is the one thing the Flames can address via FA or trade.

I do suspect the Flames are not content with their cap space, RFAs and not having flexibility. It may take a while but they're not done.

Unless the Hall coup happens, then all heck is gonna break loose. Because even then, they will still need a RW.

Have there been any rumblings around the Hall camp? Been surprisingly quiet there?

Free Agency without that courting period is taking some getting used too again, that's for sure

Only thing we got is Eklund calling a Preds media release tomorrow.

And with AP, he toured Vegas yesterday, thats it.

Other than teams that were in on Hall are out. Boston, Avs..

You could probably trade Ryan for a 7th or something. If they needed the space to sign hall or ink mangi long term, they could dump Ryan, bennett and rittich pretty easily if they expected little to nothing in return. I wouldn't get caught up in the return on middling players, the opening up of valuable cap space is far more important at the end of the day.

Really curious about Boston and Avs being out. Hall said he wanted to win and you won't find two better teams to give him that opportunity.

That says to me that those teams aren't offering the price or term he wants and ultimately, it's coming down to Hall wanting the highest contract.

Or he has a specific place he wants to go and he's just been stringing along the other teams in the hopes of driving the value up as much as possible.

Rick Dhaliwal
@DhaliwalSports
Canucks continue to look for a defenseman.

They are 1 of the teams that have checked in on Sami Vatanen.

Bennett for sure. Ryan maybe, but would be tougher. Rittich, they likely need, but even if they think he is expendable, not many teams would take on or need that contract.

With Chara, Petrovic and Krug gone Boston desperately needs some defence. They’d be far better served spending that money on Pietrangelo than Hall IMO. Go look at the Bruins current D. Fugly.

Boston may not be the Boston we’re used to if they don’t shore that up.

Total shot in the dark, but the Blackhawks don't have a goalie, and their C depth isn't great

Potential trade? Rittich and Ryan?

I'm against moving Rittich but the cap space would be nice. Take Subban back, have him, Domingue, Zag and Parsons all duel for the backup spot in camp?

Just thinking out loud, be nice with your criticisms haha. No clue what the rest of the trade could/would look like

Bowman said the plan is to run the kids in net. Subban and Delia.

Somehow teach one of these guys to take face offs

Tkachuk - Rinaldo - Perry

And watch the world burn.

Hmm

That makes the Athletic article about Toews and co being mad at management make a lot more sense

Yikes. That seems like a pretty awful plan.

With the schedule most likely being highly compressed next season, we are going to need to keep Rittich around. There are going to be a lot of back to backs.

Like I said I'd rather keep rittich too. Just trying to get creative with realistic ways to clear cap without selling Gaudreau for 4 1st rounders and a diet dr pepper

What are the Flames paying him all that money for? So he can defend against guys like Monahan? I think Derek Ryan can do as good of a job with that. To me, this is a case of fans falling in love with the player instead of looking at the reality.. I wonder if other teams fans view Backlund the same way - I don't think so.
LOL

Backlund and the Flames came up short on two likely to be hall of famers. But let’s overreact and lay the blame at his feet.

The best possession driving forward on the team, wins faceoffs, kills penalties, and takes on the toughest responsibilities, while putting up 50 points.

He was also our best forward in the playoffs by a wide margin
