I was at Children's Emergency last night with my son (he is ok), and there were half a dozen kids there with soccer injuries. One boy (about 16-17) had a full Cavalry uniform on. Do they have a junior team?
They do, yes. A lot of them are in that age-range.

It's all over the print and TV media. Not sure what else a team to can do.
Billboards?
They are? I have not seen one commercial and don't read the paper. I asked my kids soccer team (U12) if they knew about the league or the team, 3 kids did and they were all the coaches kids.
For a new product I would have thought there would be more of a promotional push.
That being said I am looking to take a few kids from the team to the game on Saturday and is should be fun.
I am really intrigued by this. I think the venue is terrific and although I’m sure there are some logistic issues I envision this being an awesome day out on a nice summer day.
I’m a very casual soccer fan at best but always willing to support local sport. I see myself as the demographic that this kind of initiative should be targeting.
I am going to have to echo a lot of the sentiments already in this thread. Personally, I would love for this to be an event I can take my kids to. However, the pricing simply isn’t feasible for a family of 4. If I am understanding correctly the cheapest seat for public purchase is north of $50. $200 to walk in the door is an absolute deal breaker...
If you consider that the surrounding area to Spruce Meadows is very much a suburban type demographic with lots of families and children it makes no sense to not target it. Hoping next year they can be more competitive so we can embrace it!

I should add that now there are no GA tickets showing up. I wonder if they add them in the days leading up to each match.

One thing I would like the club to do is put a pop up shop on Stephen Ave and sell some merchandise and tickets. I really think it would get them out there and hopefully sell some more tickets.
On the subject of tickets can we maybe not bring up the prices every other post. I think by now we all know it is overpriced and a hindrance but it is not going to change. Let's just enjoy it and get behind the team.
Thought last nights game was very scrappy, if this was in Europe I think at least two players would have gone off. I think it was Buscher who got away with a scorpion tackle. Having said that, Valour was an absolute disgrace with the faking injuries, slowly getting off the pitch, and then immediately coming back on. The ref was abysmal. In the end though, 3 points was all that mattered. It will be interesting to see whoever wins the spring season and if they can keep momentum or just take their foot off the gas knowing they are already in the final.
One last thing, I tried out the Rose & Crown bus to the game last night and cannot recommend it enough. There were two buses I think, one left at 5:30 the other 6. We got on at 5:30 and were at the stadium by 6:15. Lots of time to get a beer and food. The Rose and Crown does a happy hour, so $5 drinks and it was also wing night. Between two of us we had 3 beers and 20 wings and our bill was only about $20 so amazing value. Try to experience it, great way to meet fellow supporters and support a pub that is supporting sport in Calgary.

Did you buy tickets from the Rose & Crown? If so, what section were they in?
Another awesome night! The supporters section has been a blast.
Getting in and out of the stadium last night was a breeze, the new measures they put in really worked.
All in all its been an awesome two games. Absolutely no regrets about shelling out for season tickets. Should be a fun year! Looking forward to the upcoming Saturday games.

Sherm - I can do some research I guess, but you're a legend with info - how do get one of these beer / bus / ticket deals?
The Ship and Anchor sells the ticket/bus/beer deal for $30, if you already have a ticket is $5 for the bus, according the event they’ve set up on their Facebook page tickets are on sale from the bartenders there. The Rose & Crown bus is free, but they don’t offer any ticket packaging so you need to buy your own ticket beforehand.
I’ve done the Rose & Crown bus for both games now and it’s been a great time

Does anyone know what section their tickets are in?
