Even the fan 960 didn't bring them up in headlines this afternoon, yet spent time talking about how bad the Jay's are, and European soccer... A little disappointing.... Anyways, go Cavalry!

Is today’s game one of ones being streamed on CBC?

This is so frustrating. If it was just a bad experience, product and hack stadium then you could just say "welp, they blew it". But what kills me is the experience has reportedly been awesome, the jersey's look incredible, the quality is great and the stadium looks unreal on TV. Like a mini version of a unique british stadium with character.

The little things like parking and all that can and already mostly have been worked out. They nailed everything EXCEPT TICKET PRICING, which they overshot so bad that we're the absolute week link of the league, and it's the most important thing!

As they say in marketing - you usually only have one chance to get your customer base. They were so close to nailing this but blew the most important thing and can't fix it now because they're small ticket base wouldn't have it.

Love watching it though. I think I'll let the free month roll over into paid ones. Shouldn't criticize while putting nothing in myself, even if tickets are too much. I want this league to succeed so badly.

Shermanator, you guys sound great. You can really feel the supporters section come through on the broadcast.

One thing that's abundantly clear after watching other broadcasts - If Cavalry hadn't blown pricing we'd have the best and loudest fans in the league. Even a smattering of fans like tonight sounds way more engaged and loud than other markets, imo.

Yeah, amazing. Sherm was a huge part of that, building it up at a lesser level when no one in the city gave a ****.

Sports die in this city because of cynics like me, and flourish because of the work and passion of people like him. I can recognize that. At least I'll support with $10/mth on one soccer.

Is there absolutely anything they will do about the ticket pricing at this point?

It’s embarrassing!

They can't because of the committed ticket base at their absurd prices. It's why the marketing saying "You've got one chance to capture market" is so true. You can't lower prices now and even if you do next season you've lost the first year buzz that draws people in.

They blew it and will be a bottom attendance team in the league, while nailing everything else, unfortunately.

I mean they priced themselves at a level that would make lots of MLS organizations blush. It's not like they were even close. There's five different types of potential fans for a Canadian professional soccer league

1. Elite sports fans (Not likely to buy in to soccer at this level)

2. Casual Calgary sports fans (like Calgary sports in general, will buy in if the experience is good and price is decent)

3. low income sports fans (will buy in to any decent product if they can afford to bring the family without breaking the bank, this market is HUGE)

4. hardcore high level soccer fans (not huge on this level of soccer but would probably come out because it's the best we have, if the price is alright)

5. Hardcore soccer fans (will buy in at almost any price because they crave soccer at any level and will pay whatever price

So who did they target with their pricing? Number 1 and 5? Of which there aren't a whole ton of in the city. They left so many fans on the table it almost stings.

Unfortunately it was likely as simple as the organization thinking "well we do show jumping better than most in North America - 'Great experience at a cost', so we'll just do that only for soccer....profit!".

I will say this, the fans that can afford to go out are amazing. (Haha, now an Ole chant!). 1500 or whatever it is sounds like 5000. too bad it's looks dismal on TV coverage because I think we have the loudest for sure.

I took the game off to recover from a bad cold. I agree, the group sounded incredible on the stream.
