TBF - there are different levels to the INs and OUTs -
Preds have a ton of OUTs games - but only 1 against the bottom 3 teams. Wild have 6 games against Ana, SJ and CHI. Flames and Blues have 5.

Perhaps I need to refine that a bit more for the real basement dwellers.

Including Columbus in the basement dwellers mix with Anaheim, San Jose and Chicago:
Edmonton 3, LA 6, Nashville 4, St. Louis 5, Minnesota 6, and Calgary 5.

Minny is going to have a lot to say about who gets in...

2 against the Kings, 2 against the Preds, and 3 against the Blues

All I see here is, the 2 wild card spots are coming from the central and LA finishes 3rd in the Pacific

A hard Flames schedule is a soft Flames schedule.

Kings in Pacific 3rd. Nashville in first wildcard looks pretty much a lock. Battle between Edmonton and Minnesota for the last spot.

I didn't realize minny had even re-entered the picture. Shows how much I've been paying attention.

Not only have they done that but they look relevant.

Flames have to be lights out. Their hopes hinge on Markstrom since the D will be decimated in the coming weeks.

Slim chance of victory, certainty of death? What are we waiting for.

Those three against each other might sway my opinion if St. Louis took all of them, but I like Minnesota's schedule better and the way they're playing lately.

We'll see what those two teams do at the deadline. Will they sell anything?

Neither wildcard is a lock right now.

Preds will be reeled in with all these head to heads I think.

I'll predict that nothing changes for the WCs: NSH and STL.

The order, between the Kings, EDM, and VGS is still up in the air, but I think the 8 playoff teams are what they are.

That just means their schedule to date was much harder.

if the wc's are NSH and STL how can the 8 playoff teams be what they are?
one of LA, EDM or Vegas need to miss in that case

Sorry, yeah. NSH keeps the spot. Or STL takes it. But I can't see anyone else passing both of them.
