I appreciate that this show can get intense and violent without devolving into gore porn the way Walking Dead did. looking back I just didn't really need to see characters with brains bashed in, intestines hanging out, limbs chopped off on a weekly basis. your own imagination is always more terrifying anyways.

I don't think he was dead until after the 18th hack!

Also where were the towns people? When the place where you eat is going up in flames and smoke wouldn't you come out and try to save it?

Maybe they thought Pastor Pete was having a fry-up.

Those corpses they were going to eat sure looked like human veal.

Joel and Ellie killed most of the able bodied men. The rest are underfed and weak and hunkering down in a storm. They're not going to have a quick response time.

True I guess. If I were Joel and Ellie i would have taken over a house to rest and heal. and to try some tasty smoked kids.

Joel and Ellie probably doomed the rest of those cult members to death by freezing and starvation.

At least they might have a little bit of cooked ground human left after what Ellie did to David's head/torso in that burning building.

What? That other community in Canmore is just fine. They've still got sheep and everything!

This episode definitely did get a little 'Walking Dead' at times, but...I rag on TWD a lot, but moments where your primary characters really step up and start taking matters into their own hands are awesome!

I actually liked the vented rage.

I think a lot of people can relate to the frustration of doing something difficult to try and help an overall cause and being stymied and halted by crazy people and just raging.

I found that I really felt the anger of someone doing something difficult to help these people and just being infuriated.

Besides...its nice to see Joel and Ellie finally put their foot down and show that they're the baddest bastards in this valley.

Meh...they looked like they were on their last legs already. Their leadership was totally incompetent and holding them hostage. On top of that they all looked pretty beat down and abused.

The group members are probably better off scattering to the wind.

By my count, Joel punched soldier boy 15 times in the face in the pilot. Ella got preacher/teacher/pedo 22 times with the cleaver last night.

Ella > Joel. Discuss.

Was everyone only following creepy guy's lead because

Still going up.

https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/the...rs-1235544609/

The penultimate episode of “The Last of Us” Season 1 reached an impressive 8.1 million viewers on Sunday night.

The 8.1 million viewers who tuned into Episode 8, titled “When We Are In Need,” contributed to a 74% increase from the viewership of the series premiere, which drew an audience of 4.7 million people.

Adapted from the popular PlayStation games of the same name, “The Last of Us” was an instant success for HBO when it premiered in January. Those 4.7 million initial viewers scored the network its second-most watched debut in over a decade — only behind “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of the Dragon.”

I assumed you’d keep the human butchering part of your operation fairly separate from the rest of the townsfolk so people didn’t accidentally walk in on it.

Do you think they were killing living people from their town to eat, just send raiders out to kill people to eat or just eating the dead they found? My thought is that the guys attacking Joel were hunting for food both him and his horse.

Umm, maybe use binoculars next time?

"The 19-year-old man claimed he was using the scope on his airsoft rifle to get a better look at the film shoot in Olds, Alta. in June 2022"

"The delay in filming cost US$54,000 just in salary for actors and support crew, as staff were shepherded to a safe location.

Man says he was using scope on airsoft rifle to get better view of film shoot.

Among those who had to take cover were show stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, said head of security Dustin Austin, who was alerted to an armed man in a second-floor window overlooking the production in Olds on June 1, 2022.

But Reece Wadden, who faces three charges of mischief, unlawful use of an imitation firearm to commit mischief and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, denied intending to harm anyone."

I'll take things that only happen in rural Alberta for $500, Alex

That kids really lucky. They recently overturned the Harper legislation that put a 1 year minimum sentence on any crime committed with a firearm or an imitation firearm:
