I never felt that way about the series. Whenever an idea was recycled, it was always handled differently as the characters and the world itself had evolved between the Recycled scenarios. I can admit that it did start to stretch towards the end. Eventually, the world evolved to the point where it was no longer a zombie story anymore and it made sense to end it with Rick's death, because Rick's personal struggle in the zombie apocalypse was always the core story. I think faking out the audience was the right move, telling everyone the series was ending would be an event itself that would overshadow the actual narrative and strip it of its impact

I thought they were going to cliche that storyline at the start. I should have known better.

That was impressive.

Utterly brilliant; anyone making any comparisons to The Walking Dead are highly misguided, that show never showed the depth of story telling or acting episode three did. It could've been cliche, it could've been obvious, it could've just been some simple hot Dilf on Dilf action we've all be craving, but instead it was beautiful.

I'm glad the camera cut before it panned to the bodies, not showing it that to either Joel & Elle or us was smart writing.

I have to say I am enjoying this show more than I thought I would.

It is really neat how they can take some parts of calagry and overlay cgi stuff

I was not expecting something so beautiful. But wow.

Murray Bartlett is a really fine actor.

They really changed it from the game. So much more backstory and wow that acting. Even Pedro finally reacting to the loss of Tess having to step outside with the note.

I look forward to seeing how sales for Linda Ronstadt songs jump up this week.

EDIT: Ellie's T shirt, the shot of the window at the end, the "video gamey" reverse code hint in the letter, the same meal at the start and the end.

An episode of television has not made me cry more since S1E7 of Castle Rock, the penultimate episode of an otherwise unremarkable but above average show that just hit incredibly hard because of tight scripting, direction and acting.

Unreal.

Yeah you will, because the magic of Television and the mechanical prowess of Ron Swanson is pretty much the only explanation for why the S-10 even started.

One of the best episodes of TV I can remember watching, that was so incredibly well done.

And Armand from White Lotus!! At first I recognized him but couldn't place it. Then the Arby's line came and it was classic Armand.

Oh, please........no. Save the children.

As someone who is a total newbie to this game/show, no idea what is going to happen, I have to say this is a pretty awesome series so far. Not just a bunch of zombies running around, there's actually some great stories and depth to it. Very impressed.

Thought for sure when Bill and Frank were playing the piano earlier in the episode someone was getting killed for sure. Really well done so far.

Quite enjoyed that episode. Gave Bill (wonderfully cast) a better spot in The Last of Us. Less of a tragic character.

Note on the game after the spoiler! (I know I know, I’m sorry - but this episode in particular really landed for me)

Spoiler!

10 miles West of Boston sure looked like East Kananaskis to me (probably the Sheep river).

Brilliant episode.
