Uggh, that's my favourite rendition of Nautical Disaster I've heard. Whatever he did at the end of the song... I just love it.

Also forgot to mention earlier, another older song I love is When the Weight Comes Down.

He's singing a lyric from the Skydiggers song "A Penny More" at the end of the SNL version. Their guitarist Josh Finlayson was a big contributor to Downie's solo projects over the years, and also co-wrote and played guitar on his final album, Away is Mine.

Reformed Baptist Blues is a banger.
Imagine Gord singing that live. Hot damn.

I've got an El Mocombo from 88 with Reformed Baptist Blues and seven other tracks. It looks like I have bootleg versions of most of the Saskadelphi songs, in addition to lots of other unreleased ones.

Some other highlights include the complete Murray McLoughlin CBC Radio Show from 93, a 1985 radio contest entry track called "Psychodelic Ramblings of Rich Kids", July 15, 1988 @ Horseshoe Tavern on two discs and it opens with Reformed Baptist Blues, has Stones covers and lots of unreleased songs.

Also other good stuff is, '88 at Grand Central Station in Ottawa, a handful of other concerts from 1990/91, and an early full studio outtake of Fully Completely including the original (and amazing) fast version of So Hard Done By, a good version of Radioshow, an untitled jam, and a track named "You See the Details" - 11 songs total. Before all the lyrics (and some songs) were finished.
Then lots of mid to late 90s. The latest stuff I have is, I think, 2001.

Interview with Gord Sinclair and Rob Baker about the new EP and their memories of recording Road Apples in New Orleans. Sounds like they have a lot more unreleased material that could eventually see the light of day.

Montreal is the best of the bunch so far, IMO. Such a good tune. Have these been heard before anywhere at all?

They've been available on bootlegs for years, but they were early demo versions with hissy sound. This is the first time they've been heard in proper studio quality.

My first Hip show was the Spectrum, Montreal in April of 1990. The Skydiggers opened (I was already a 'Diggers' fan as they had opened for Blue Rodeo at the same venue a year earlier

turns out Crack my spine opened that show

So good. The hip could do this forever with talented female singers and would knock it out of the park.
