Anarchists were part of virtually every leftist movement of the 19th and 20th centuries. They vied with Marx over the direction of the Hague Congress. And of course anarchism is an ideology. Anarchists have written tomes and tomes of political theory and programs. You've never heard of Mikhail Bakunin? Peter Kropotkin? Pierre-Joseph Proudhon? Propaganda of the deed?

Anarchists set up the Capital Hill Autonomous Zone is Seattle. The movement is more than just a bunch of kids smashing windows
.
The Seattle Police 'set up' the CHOP zone when they withdrew from the neighborhood, there was no plan to push the police out and set up a commune, there was a demonstration and then the cops left and the demonstration found itself, much no doubt to its collective surprise, in charge of the area, it wasnt organised or planned it happened because the cops left

Well, I think they outwitted a woke Mayor, but I get your point.

It looks very much like Ron Paul just had a stroke on a live stream...really scary.

Edit: Taking down the video as I think it was in poor taste to share. It's on Twitter if you want to see it.

Looks like Trump and the Republicans are betting on this election being decided by the Supreme court. Makes total sense with Trump pushing his handpicked Conservative senator to tip the balance. This is obviously how they plan to retain power knowing they will lose the election by votes.

A constitutional crisis is all but inevitable at this point. We think things are ugly now? Just wait until Trump's Supreme Court ends up throwing out millions of votes and deciding the election. S**t's gonna get crazy down there over the next few months...and violent.

It's incredibly sad and frightening to watch a once great country disintegrate before our eyes. And it only took 4 years. What a time to be alive.

It's been rotting for a lot longer than 4 years. McConnel just figured out how to push it over the edge.

This also seems to apply to almost all countries.

Well, they don't want Biden for a few years and they also don't want Kamala for a few more years after that. This is the equivalent of tanking for a first overall draft pick. With Trump winning, maybe they can ride it out for 4 years and get their candidate in 2024.

The fact that Biden or even Harris was on the table as an option is pretty shortsighted considering the stakes.

One does wonder 2-3 years ago when the Democrats realized the seriousness of a Trump Presidency, and how they really need to have their ducks in a row to make sure they can vote him out after 4 years, which moron stood up and said 'Joe Biden.'

My point was that Rube is 100% correct, and I applaud him for actually sticking to his guns, because most others in here are always so quick to tell everyone to quiet down when it comes to criticizing the Democrats in fear that some moderates might not vote or something other bogus stupidity.

The real problem is that people will quit protesting when they win. Biden is the start but if there aren’t women’s march and BLM sized protest the day of Biden’s inauguration to keep pushing left then progressives deserve what they get. Right now is shut up and vote for the lesser of too evils. Nov 3rd it time to get to work on ensuring change happens.

Money poured into the Democrats, Biden and other dem candidates AFTER Biden was selected. If the DNC had picked a candidate that was likely to upend the status quo in any significant way, the campaign money might just have flowed to Trump instead.

Author argues that the U.S. won't succumb to tyranny or civil war, but rather division and secession.

Quote:
The more plausible future dystopia is related to the nature of America as a geographically large, culturally heterogeneous and politically decentralized country. Instead of a fascist power grab, we seem more likely to witness an escalating series of disputes between state and federal authorities, and among the states themselves, leading to the possibility of division and secession. We see the seeds of this disintegrative future, for example, in the raft of progressive municipalities that have exempted themselves from federal immigration law, the conservative state legislatures that have effectively banned abortion and on the streets of Portland, where officers from an alphabet soup of federal agencies were recently deployed to protect a United States courthouse from protesters.

According to David French, “there is not a single important cultural, religious, political or social force that is pulling Americans together more than it is pushing us apart.” In his admirably measured book “Divided We Fall: America’s Secession Threat and How to Restore Our Nation,” French convincingly argues that polarization is putting America on a perilous path to disunion.

Interesting article. I think he sells both ideas short. I think one could be the response to the other, which ends it all in a messy and very public breakup. Trump will get his own country to be king over, the coastal elites will have their independent states, and Trump will achieve his primary goals: skate on criminal charges and ingratiate himself with his favorite autocrat and foreign supporter. He doesn’t care about the United States, so this would work for him. What would be interesting is the great migration as states and people pick sides.
