Crowd was definitely a little dead. We’re in 105 this year and actually had a lot more fun when we were sitting in 108/109 in previous years. The energy just seems to get sucked out of the crowd the further north you go in the grandstand.
Seemed like a lot of first time attendees today too, which might mean people were just checking it out rather than hardcore fans.
CanPL is reporting attendance as 4990 today. If true, I think that’s the largest crowd of the year.

4990 is a record regular season attendance for Cavalry. Only games with higher were against Whitecaps, Montreal or Forge in the 2019 finals.

I sat beside Loturi/Akio's parents. Super lovely people. They're dad was so into the game even though their son wasn't playing. He said Akio should be back in 2 or 3 games. Great to see Alarcon back as well.

It was so hot in the stands, one of the hottest of the year. That will help kill an atmosphere
Cavs looked like they never got out of second gear today. Clean sheet would’ve been nice but that was a great hit for the Vancouver goal
Shamit Shome is some player. So smart out there and we haven’t talked enough about him this year

Pacific running wild on York. Still some work to go to lock down the regular season title.

So... we win next weekend and the league presents us with a trophy for winning the league right?

Is that right?
With a win against York, but losses for the rest, Cavalry would finish with 49 points and 14 wins.
If Pacific runs the table in their last 3 games, they would finish with 49 points and 14 wins.
The next tie breaker is goal differential, and unless we absolutely shattered York, we'd likely lose out on that one in that scenario.

So 4 points will lock it up then. It's definitely not out of the realm of possibility for Cavalry to win the last three, but even a win and a draw gets it done. Would be nice to lay the boots to both York and Valour so we're not all holding our breath for that last game against Pacific.

Pacific is playing in Hamilton this weekend. Forge are sucking less lately, and could hop into the desirable second place spot with a win. Somehow it seems inevitable we’ll have to play Forge twice and lose the second time against them in the playoffs. The format was designed explicitly for that scenario lol.

Ottawa tie it up in the 91st minute and then Halifax score the winner in the 92nd minute.
Ottawa haven't won since Cavalry beat them in the 97th minute which is a real shame...

I’d really like York to grab that 5th spot over Ottawa but I don’t want us to help them do it this weekend.

I was hoping to attend this game (and wear my Wizard Hat and Cavs gear as the only Cavs guy at the game haha), but the game was moved to Saturday and thus I can't attend.
If they manage to stay in the GTA I will attend games going forward, am hoping they move to Etobicoke!

What are the rumours about York? Hopefully they relocate within the GTA or at least Southern Ontario. Maybe they'd be more appreciated in Kitchener-Waterloo, London, or a similar smaller city.
Unfortunately I'm not surprised. York Lions Stadium looks like a terrible place to watch soccer in.

No rumors. Just awful attendance year over year. They average 1233 a game which is something like 2500 belong league average. and exactly -1 compared to last years average. It just can't be sustainable.

I do recall the league taking control of York before the season started, which is reminiscent of the Edmonton situation.
Hopefully things are getting worked on in the background and a positive solution is found. I would prefer a relocation over closing up shop, obviously. But not a great situation either way.
