One of the smartest people I’ve ever met is from Alabama. He’s a political consultant who has run many successful campaigns. Coincidentally, I found an article where he comments on this election.
Quote:
David Mowery, an Alabama-based political consultant, said “Republican DNA is hard-baked into the state” making it a difficult path for any Democrat, even a well-funded one. He said Alabama does not have the growing suburban populations that have helped turn some southern states into battlegrounds.

Jones only won last time because he was running against the alleged pedophile, Roy Moore.

Trump law firm withdraws from Pennsylvania case challenging election
The abrupt withdrawal overnight is a blow to the president’s efforts to overturn the result of the vote in court

So this leaves Trump without a legal team in both AZ and PA (because, assumedly they were being threatened with sanctions for bringing lawsuits with 0 evidence, or possibly manufactured evidence).
Very legitimate cases you see.

I wonder how many agents will volunteer to watch the Trumps after Jan 20th.

It would be very tragic if a secret service officer died in the line of duty while protecting the President because said President, and the miscreants he surrounded himself with, failed to take the most basic health and safety precautions during a global pandemic.

Might be old news and I missed it but from that Guardian story above.
Quote:
The Lincoln Project anti-Trump Republican group has attacked the firms on Twitter, asking, “do you believe your law firms should be attempting to overturn the will of the American people?” The group was suspended from Twitter for publishing the names and office contact information of the lawyers.

shocked it's taken so long. By all accounts, they get slaughtered in court everywhere (obviously) ... can't be good for your reputation.

I find this interesting
Trump can get the Republican Party to work with him sometimes due to executive power / threat, and sometimes because they are truly in favour of the GOP agenda. They have much to gain by staying in power
He can get a large number of American citizens on his side, many stoked by misinformation and who have been turned against themselves. Many of them perceive they have a lot to lose if the Democrats come in to power
The Electoral college is not effective in its original intent of representing and protecting the interests of its voters
Then you have the lawyers who are being asked to execute this nonsense. It is interesting. These are educated people who are aware of what they are doing, and have very little to gain personally, and everything to lose. I don’t know if ethical violations would get one disbarred, but you have to think that careers and livelihoods would be on the line
I just find it a bit interesting that this is the check / balance point where things appear to be breaking down

so the election was fair and he takes credit for that, but it was also rigged and he blames the Dems for that. Amazing.

yet the Democrats rigged it (probably bigly)

So this is the worst part, Trump as an ex-president will continue to receive intelligence briefings.
Every part of me expects him to use those briefings to grandstand and call out Biden et al.
Could he be the first ex-president to have this privilege rescinded?

He didn’t care about them while he was president, I doubt he’d care much about them after. Maybe they’d be rescinded because he is a risk for other reasons.

He'll probably pay more attention to them after he's gone than he does now for more Twitter and Trump TV ammo.

He’s absolutely a security risk. He’s driven by any means to self enriching so he’ll be selling that info to whoever he can.
