Icon20 Bruins re-sign Danton Heinen (2 yrs, $2.8m AAV)

Hopefully works as a ceiling for Bennett on a 2 year contract. Had 34 and 47 points the last two years.

3x2.5 for Bennett is my guess. Heinen is a good comparable.

To me, this suggests Bennett will come in at between 2.3M and 2.5M on a 2 year deal.

Bennett has had 53 points over the last 2 years and Heinen has had 81. Both are coming off their ELC and both were/are arbitration eligible.

Heinen should make more.

Heinen doesn't have arb rights. That's one difference, presumably in Bennett's favour. But Heinen has produced slightly better in his 2 years in the NHL.

I think Heinen did file for arbitration

I don't think Heinen had arb rights. And Bennett isn't coming off an ELC. He had a 2X$1.95 RFA contract.

ETA: I'm wrong - Heinen had arb rights.

Well that was unbelievably stupid of me. Of course Bennett is not coming off his ELC. Anyways, I still think Bennett will make less than Heinen.

I agree. But there's not a whole lot of room between Bennett's old contract and Heinen's new one, so your guess is as good as any.
