It's more about the extra week of rest and no first round injuries. That is a HUGE benefit to whoever gets it.

Last in rushing in the league going into inclement weather does not bode well.

I get it, but how many running backs have gone down.
I get that you need to establish a running game in the cold, it opens up play action and RPO. It also slows down the pass rush. But the Stamps Oline is a very good pass protect oline, and if they give Bo the time he'll kill your secondary no matter how many guys you drop back into it.
If you don't have a great run game, there are options. You run a ton of wide and middle screens and encourage the pass rush to break the pass rush.
Last weekend, I couldn't get our run game going, so I went to running a bunch of different screens and slants and quick outs and it had the same effect as a strong run game, it brings defensive players down field. Then you tear the fricken head off of their secondary.
In three games the Stamps have put up 350 yards in the air, 8 throwing tds and i think three picks. 260 of those yards and 2 picks came off of the arm of Arbuckle.
Against the Riders in two games we put up over 500 yards and 4 TD's in the air.

Don't get me wrong Captain, I don't mean to be Mr. Doom 'n Gloom and have faith that DD will put together a solid game plan for next weekend as well as for the playoffs. The other way of looking at it is the Stamps have managed to put together a fine regular season with the worst running game in the league. That's gotta count for something, right?

It absolutely does, I wanted to add one correction to my post it was 950 yards in the air in three games against the Bombers. They might have a solid run stopping game, but the Bombers D isn't great at stopping the pass. They're also I think worst in the league in allowing plays of 30 yards or more. Their secondary is their weak point.
I mean I'm not trying to be snarky or pretend to be an expert, but if you have a team that is that good at taking away the run game, then why run into the teeth of their defense. Run a pass heavy spread and break up the box, and then pop some grind runs to keep them honest. It used to be that the pass game in the cold was a scary thought. But glove technology for example and shoe technology have nullified that.
I'd pass on the Bombers, encourage the pass rush and start using my HB on the screens.

Well, this is not good news - Cordarro Law has had a fine season and the Stamps definitely did not have much of a pass rush against the Bombers last weekend. I hope Tre Roberson's concussion symptoms have not returned. As for Metchie, he's had a good season as well, but I think the Stamps have some options to replace him.

Very true, although the Stamps need a win against BC to secure a home playoff game. You know the Lions would love to play the role of spoiler.

Bombers vs Stampeders, location matters. If the games Winnipeg i'd say the Bombers would be favourites, by a small margin. If it's in Calgary ... Stamps would be favourites by a decent margin. Especially if the weather allows for BLM to pass more effectively.

Also, the Eskimos are resting Harris for the playoffs (can't blame them for that decision). I don't think Kilgore has what it takes to beat the Roughriders at Mosaic.

Saskatchewan is not losing to an Edmonton team that has nothing to play for this weekend. The west final will be in Regina.

A lot of twitter chat regarding Andrew Harris being snubbed by the Winnipeg media guys for Bombers team award recognition.

It was the right call. It would have made the CFL look bad to even nominate a player for a performance award the same season he tests positive for steroid use. Impressive work by Winnipeg media as I'm not so sure every CFL media group would have made the same call.

I think DD and Huf are just resting guys as they are pretty much guaranteed to be playing in the West semi-final with the Eskies resting Harris. That said, I'm sure they would rather play Winnipeg at home than on the road.
