As much as it sucks not having Tanev in the lineup, timing wise with all-star break and who our opponents are before and after, good time for him to get some extended rest. The only playoff teams we play are Seattle and NYR (x2) between now and Feb. 23, with Buffalo as well as the only other team close to a spot.

The way he reacted I’m betting he’s not coming back soon. Not sure if it was the surgically repaired shoulder?

Shoulder injuries don't go away quickly. I doubt the all star break makes any bit of difference. I think he's out long term, but God I hope I'm wrong.

The image in my mind from the game is his left shoulder. But I can't find anything saying which shoulder he had surgery on recently.

If memory serves me right I believe it was his left shoulder in the playoffs that looked dead on him a couple times? I'm also now in my 40's so take it with a grain of salt.

As much as the 3rd pairing is scary, I hope Zadorov and Weegar compliment each other and they both join the rush (not at the same time) for added offence.

That so called Lucic "experiment" is now approaching 20 games folks.
I really don't understand it. The complete lack of desire from Sutter to want to get Huberdeau rolling is quite frankly strange.
Hopefully Mackey get's given a fair shot here. I don't think he has been afforded the opportunity to settle into a role or feel comfortable yet. He's had a rough ride to be sure - but he's better than what he's shown.
