Icon48 Brendan Smith, Marcus Kruger, and Josh Jooris on waivers

Wow Smith just signed a 4 year deal, $4.35 mil AAV with the Rangers a few months ago.

Kruger has one more season after this one at a $3.083 cap hit.

You'd have to think that's close to the end of the line for Jooris sadly.

Too bad about Jooris. His rookie year is turning out to be his career year.

Will be shocked if Smith or Kruger get claimed at those cap hits.

100% true. I can't help but keep laughing at the Rangers. I mean, they pick up Cody McLeod of all people off waivers, and now this??

LOL. Wow are they ever funny.

1 goal 6 points in 48 games. He's never cracked 10 goals or 30 points and his last season above 20 points (of which there's two) was in 2014 with the Hawks.

Kruger in WAS an elite defensive centreman and a core component of the Hawks cup teams.

The Flames drafted Linus Lindstrom who patterns his game after Kruger.

That cap hit might be too high but I wonder if the Flames might have an interest there. He might be an upgrade on Stajan for that fourth line centre; however, I haven't seen him play his year so don't know if his game has deteriorated.

He's only 27 years old.

Rangers seem to be reverting back to the pre-cap Rangers. Which is great. I hate that team.

It has absolutely deteriorated. He's no good anymore.

He's not worth picking up, let alone at his $3.083M cap hit.

And saying he was an elite defensive centreman is an overstatement IMO.

Well, he's behind four other centres on Carolina, if that's a clue.
