Default Dynamite Kid passes away

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-birthday.html

I'm normally not much for the RIP threads, but had to post this one as I was a huge, huge fan of Stampede wrestling as a kid and followed his entire career.

you want a good read, check out his autpobiography.
makes me sad.

My favorite wrestler of all time. RIP, Tom Billington.

He would never win a Mr. Congeniality award, but Dynamite Kid was a massively influential wrestler and one of the top two or three in-ring talents of all time IMO.

My favorite wrestler of all time! Loved reading his book Pure Dynamite.

So awesome he always came back to Calgary no matter how popular he was in the other parts of the world.
Still can't believe he lived this long though after reading what he used to take when wrestling.

Snap suplex!!!

I was just watching an interview with Bret Hart and he mentioned how ridiculous it is that Dynamite isn't in the WWE Hall of Fame. I looked up Dynamite on wiki and was shocked to see he just died hours ago.

Great under rated wrestler who has a big piece of Calgary wrestling history.

He was the main attraction for Stampede Wrestling for a while as he was the total package. As others have said it's kind of amazing he made it to 60 given what his body went through. RIP.

Dynamite Kid is the reason I'm a wrestling fan.

I was fortunate to grow up during the heyday of Stampede Wrestling and I remember coming across this strange spectacle on the TV when I was 7 or 8 years old.

Many of the wrestlers had interesting names and personas - "Bad News Allen", "The Cuban Assassin", "The Great Gama", "The Stomper".

But Dynamite Kid was the only one who truly embraced the fact that he was like a comic book hero (my other love at the time) come to life - in his name, in his ring gear, and especially in how he performed, throwing himself around the ring with abandon.

I was hooked immediately and never looked back. Pro wrestling has been one of the biggest loves of my life and the Dynamite Kid was a huge part of that - getting to watch him every Saturday on Stampede Wrestling, the pride I personally felt when he succeeded in the WWE, when I later learned about his groundbreaking matches in Japan, and yes, this inevitable early end to his life after how he abused his body, both inside the ring and outside.

It's understating it greatly to say he was a complicated figure - obviously a bully and an abuser with a small man complex. But also one of the Top 5 most innovative wrestlers in history who inspired a generation of light-heavyweights - most obviously Chris Benoit but any other wrestler who combines high-impact with high flying.

RIP.

When Dynamite and Davey Boy left Stampede for WWF, they disappeared for a while (atleast on TV available in Calgary).

When I saw them again, they were just absolutely massive. I think that's the moment as a kid I realized that steroids were a thing.

RIP Dynamite.

Great wrestler. Exciting wrestler. As a kid I loved Stampede and then that era of WWF.

I'll leave it that and give my condolences to the family.
