Holly and Bethe have exactly zero wins against a top 10 opponent.

Why is Ronda getting back to back challengers for the Women's Bantamweight Championship against such weak and unproven fighters?

Dana playing favourites?

Who else would you take? Ronda has beat everyone else. Dana is just capitalizing on the only other money fight he has besides Cyborg. Once Holmes gets her fight, they'll book Tate again and we can start round 2 of every fight.

Because there ain't much else. She's a step above everyone. She fights often too, which is good for the company but has eliminate opponents faster.

The division needs a delay for a bit, problem is there is no real superfight for women right now. Just the one with Cyborg that isn't going to happen.

Exactly.. Ronda has beaten Tate twice already, is there anyone in a rush to see a third fight, a non swing third fight?

I just don't feel that Holmes deserves a shot over Zingano or Tate.

They should just make the Cyborg fight already... apparently Cyborg can make the weight and just wants the money.

I don't buy that Cyborg can make the weight. Sorry.

I'd like to see the fight as much as the next person, but I think Cyborg should drop down and prove she can do it for a fight before she gets the match with Rousey.

Cyborg drops down and takes on Tate. Win and it sets up an even bigger gate that otherwise. She fails to make weight or she fails her drug test - or both - then she's shown for what she is and doesn't get the fight.

The 25 year old from Lethbridge decides to hang it up. Some will say that's really early but almost 40 fights.. end it before it ends you?

Because no one wants to see a Rousey Tate 3

Doing that fight right now would be a huge mistake for the UFC. Pretty much like when Franklin got destroyed by Silva... Franklin really had no where to do. If Tate would loose this fight she has no weight class to move to and there would never be a Rousey Tate 4. So the best thing is to put the fight on the back burner and hope that Tate gets some momentum behind her where she would be a bigger draw interest wise in the fight

Tate right now is a bigger draw not fighting Rousey for the UFC then if Rousey would steamroll over her again.

While I do feel it's fair to criticize the Holmes matchup but the UFC is really buying time so that the No 1 contenders recover and get some heat back behind them. Holmes is also 33, waiting 2 years to earn her shot will also move her further away from her prime.

I personally don't think Holmes can make it through the top ten and I believe the UFC believes this also... pretty much feed her to the lion while she still has a name behind her before the other take it away

This is the problem of having your champion taking out the competition rather then having the competition to dictate the number one contender... Champion beats the No1 contender and therfore the No3 is now the No 1 rather then having 2 vs 3 to find out who number 1 is. They would rather have the champion dictate the rankings and since Ronda is superior she has devalued the value of who's next.

Having Ronda fight these last two fights (cans if you want to call it) allows the division to reset and build some momentum behind the fighters to set another title run

I'd also like to see Amanda Nunes fight Tate or Zingano, or even step in against Ronda if Holly pulls out.

I would be interested a Nunes Tate fight, don't think she should fight Cat though so soon. She was Cat's first fight back after Cat's long injury/suicide break... Amanda came out strong in that fight but don't think she was much of a match for Cat without the ring-rust

I really see the division as

Rousey
-
Cat
-
-
-
-
everyone else

Apparently Fedor has signed with the UFC.

http://combatpress.com/2015/09/fedor...-with-the-ufc/

I wonder what kind of form he can regain?

He'd be smart to avoid the HW's. He carries a lot of extra weight, a 205 Fedor would be extra scary.

Deal not official yet.

The HW division is such a strange place right now, with so much power it doesn't take a lot for the division to be turned upside down. Would be very difficult for a HW to be as dominate as Fedor once was

Wit the success of Barnett, Mir, Arlovski, Werdum, Hunt I can understand the the drive to fight again has emerged. Although he did take some damage I really don't think he has taken a huge sum... Can't see him having an answer if Cain got him to the ground through. I also don't see Cain making it through a training camp either (joke)

Think he'll be no different the the rest of the Hw division win some loose some, one puck and lights out for everyone, hard to defend that
