If not for the Stampede Calgary's economy would take a dive. Plus there are chicks wearing skimpy Cowgirl clothes.

I don't see the problem.

I checked the CocaCola lineup, and is it bad if I don't recognize about half the names? And that Terry fella's gotta be super popular over there to be playing the stage everyday.

Why would anyone hate a festival where it's the norm to have a beer with breakfast?

I've started growing out my Stampede moustache - always do it post-Victoria Day. I like this time of year pre-Stampede as we start seeing the decorations go up around town.

Re: The Coke Stage lineup. I know I'm getting old when I don't recognize most of the names. Might go see George Canyon, though.

Whenever you comment in this thread (clearly labelled Stampede 2012) I imagine you lining up, buying a ticket and entering the Stampede grounds then yelling at everyone already inside for having a good time.

Gotta pay the troll toll to get into this boy's soul.

The first thing I thought of when seeing this thread was, I bet I'll see TurnedTheCorner in there with his annual "I hate Stampede" Debbie Downer posts. I must say, you didn't fail to disappoint. It's like the same rant every year.

I'm really beginning to wonder if there is a bigger tragedy here for TTC. Like his dog getting crushed by a Stampede float, or his father getting flung out of the tilt-a whirl when he was 7 and being in a coma for 15 years before dying.

All of my corporate parties are set, and Wednesday the 11th is going to be a gong show with three vendors throwing parties that day. Saturday the 14th will also be busy as we have a birthday party, the Brad Paisley concert, and a fireworks party then.

Interspersed with those I will have a rodeo day, a golf tournament, and taking my toddler to the grounds one day. I'm already tired thinking about the week. My annual Stampede Moustache is pretty much ready, though.

What is "The Stampede"? There are so many levels to "The Stampede", if you can't find a part of it that you like, shame on you.

Not to mention all the revenue dollars pouring into the city during Stampede time. Try to find an industry that doesn't benefit in any way, shape or form.

Going to the Stampede Roundup concert this year. I missed last year's, but was there in 2010 for Lynyrd Skynyrd and April Wine, which was amazing.

Well my wife and kids are out of town that week. Not sure what she was thinking by leaving me in the city during Stampede but I think it'll be a blast. Don't have any definite plans as of yet besides our company party on the wednesday. I'm just going to hit up whatever party looks good and hope I make it home that night.
