Look, I can be pretty pretentious with the best of them, but I don't fully understand hating on someone else's esthetic appreciation.

We all have things that are guilty pleasures. Me, I can't get enough Neil Diamond. "Come on now, yeah-ha!" But that's besides the point.

Let people enjoy what they want. Don't judge so much.

So what if people like Adam Sandler movies? It's definitely not my thing, but I wouldn't withhold my friendship just because that person has different tastes than me. I bet that I have a lot more in common with that person than differences. We are all essentially the same. We all want the same things. We mostly like the same things.

It's the time of year where we have to remember that we are 99.9% the same genetically. Build a sense of community. Build camaraderie. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

Doughty has a good thing in Alberta with the Oilers and Flames rivalry, especially with his running battle with Calgary’s Matthew Tkachuk, but he has a preference. Edmonton over Calgary.

“I like coming to Edmonton because it’s a good game against those two guys (McDavid and Draisaitl),” he said. “I’m ready for that game, and I’m excited to play against Connor as much as he’s way better than me. If I do win that matchup, I get a lot of pride from that.”
