your post would have put him in his place if it was 1992.
maybe he wanted a band that has had a hit in the last 25 or 30 years?

I'm actually impressed they could get both Billy Idol and Blondie to perform in this stage. It's a coup for the Stampede for sure.

I caught Blondie at a festival last summer and it was a blast! They still put on a great show.

I see Fleetwood Mac cancelled/postponed this week's shows. That's the 3rd time that I can recall in the last few years.

Stevie Knicks or the Wilson sisters for me, but Debbie Harry is right behind.

If you've been listening to CKUA Radio Network this week, you may have heard a few surprise artist announcements on the airwaves. ✨Today, we share that one of Canada's most beloved cult bands Rheostatics are joining the lineup for #CFMF40!

hmm, that's kind of disappointing after seeing Winnipeg's lineup.

They really aren't comparable festivals, at least not anymore. Winnipeg has taken a step up, and their capacity is literally twice Calgary's, at somewhere over 18,000 to Calgary's 8,500 or so. That really changes the level of act you can attract. I will say, signing Kacey Musgraves before the Grammy wins is a big plus for them.
I think Belle & Sebastian is a good get for Calgary.
