I look at these classic shows that were on for a number of years and wonder what happens when you have a steady gig as an actor, and then it suddenly stops. I'm sure there's some good money when a show is in syndication, but after people stop watching Perfect Strangers repeats, then what? Community Theatre? Bit roles in Law & Order? Do you just give up and do data entry at some office back home, longing for the days you were the 5th listed star of Murphy Brown? I need to know these things.

You fake being part of the Departure before eventually paying scientists to send you to where all of the rest of The Departed went anyway.

Twin peaks was the only intro I watched every time.

This is a great thread! Apologies if mentioned as I cannot see the clips (why is that? Internet Explorer?)

From Way Back:
1. Dallas (love Larry Hagman's smile)
2. The Six Million Dollar Man (awesome)
3. ABC Monday Night Football (the opening montage with Howard Cosell)

Current:
1. Game of Thrones
2. Breaking Bad

My picks aren't likely considered the best by most, but they bring back a lot of memories or are new shows we're enjoying. My parents, being uber religious, would only allow us to watch certain shows, and sometimes still, I don't understand their criteria but oh well.

Highlander was cheesy but the opening music was awesome - they changed their opening credits at least a couple of times, I think.

Season 1:

Season 4:

Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books have been made into a TV series - Ron Moore (Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, etc) is producing, Bear McCreary does all the music. McCreary has changed the opening song ever so slightly each season to reflect on certain aspects of each season - second season, parts of the theme song were sung in French, with old school French instrumentals added, to touch on the characters being in France for much of season 2.

The Bionic Woman

Six Million Dollar Man (which nowadays, wouldn't mean anything in the US except that would be the amount of his bill, without the top secret super abilities lol)

The Fall Guy

Xena

The 3-2-1 contact video triggered this memory. Big Blue Marble! I always liked the opening song, but I remember being disappointed that the show wasn't about space exploration.

I forgot this one. I got hooked on this show last year and binge watched all 10 seasons in order to catch up to this season before it began airing. I just love the Alberta scenes in it.

I remember this show being on reruns in the '90s when I was a kid. I never watched it and have no idea what it is about but that theme song has stuck with me all these years so I say good call!

So that theme song was sung by Lisa Lougheed, who had several hits in the late 80's and early 90's and then walked away from the music scene.

was never a fan of the show but hard to beat the iconic intro (of course its easy to be iconic if you stay on the air for 60 odd years)

Can't believe I forgot Six Million Dollar Man. Best intro ever.

Would really like to see this made into a movie. I had heard there was discussion around it at one point, with Marky Mark teed up to star but it was going to be a comedy. That didn't do much for me. I think that's dead now.

edit: Jim Carrey was going to do a comedy. The Wahlberg version may not be dead but didn't see anything current on that.

And she was also the voice of Lisa Raccoon.
