That's odd. What do they hate about it? It's pretty much the same show he did just prior.

Variety: It’s incredibly frustrating to watch a comic once defined by his sharp commentary wander so aimlessly through this show just because he can. Even if the question of how Macdonald got this show is easily answered, the question of why anyone outside he and his diehards fans should bother with it never is.

Hollywood Reporter: Norm Macdonald Has a Show, his new Netflix series, is pretty terrible. It's labor-intensive to get through. In the moments when it's disastrously bad, you wonder if that's the joke; given that Macdonald is notoriously adherent to anti-jokes and anti-stories as a conceit, it's at least a possibility. But no. ... Norm Macdonald Has a Show is a painful thing to watch.
I think Norm's show is great so far. I love how unscripted and raw it is. His whole thing is you can't tell if he's joking half the time, and this show embodies that perfectly.

Haven't seen it mentioned, but Season 5 of Bojack Horseman came out on Friday, and 3 episodes in, they are doing a lot to undo the relatively positive beat that S4 ended on.
Also, another Todd episode that is intensely hilarious.

Todd's robot was one of the funniest things I have seen.
Saw that Matt Damon movie Downsizing, which came out on Netflix recently. It's a MUST WATCH. Not because it's good, but because it is by far the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. I loved hating and cringing and thinking WTF through the whole thing. Fataing terrible beyond belief.

Rented it off Google for $3.99, I over paid.

It's a shame, as I think the premise itself is interesting, and it started with some promise. Too bad it just sort of fizzled and got worse as the movie went on.

Good premise, but the makers decided that they'd rather be preachy than funny. I care about climate change and should have been this movie's key audience, but I hated it.

Kristen Wiig's character ditches Matt Damon
the movie fell off the rails for what I wanted it to be.

Its funny because my wife and I watched that on the weekend and I fell asleep halfway through.
It just wasnt good. It's message was obvious, flawed and ham-fisted, it tried to address interesting socio-political issues like creating a new segment of society and the inequity of that, but it just did it all so badly.

Pretty interesting that Norm's show is being torn apart by critics but received well by fans on both RT and Metacritic.
I suppose there's two things at play. If you don't get Norm's dry, sometimes anti-humour you may not like his show and that could be the case for some critics although you would think by now they would know what you get with Macdonald. Also he's probably paying the price for standing behind some of his comedian friends that have hit hard times. IMO he's a very underrated comedian.
Yeah, I had been looking forward to it for so long, too.
Spoiler!
There were some obvious gimmes that would have been fun/funny. When he arrived, let's have some fun seeing the land, what it's like to be mini, some advantages, some disadvantages, some differences. Let's see some innovations the mini people came up with. Let's see funny uses for every day items in the normal world - like a house made of lego, how big a car looks looming above you, what it's like if a bird or bug infiltrates the land. Like these were obvious things that would have entertained for a good half hour of the movie. C'mon.
The accent of the girl was brutally annoying. There was zero chemistry between any of the characters. The hippies moving into the mountain jumped the gun by about 200 years by the sounds of things - like there was no reason to go inside there, yet.
Matt Damon's character was unlikeable and uninteresting, too.

I was so disappointed, as mentioned above the idea for the movie is good, but then......................so bad, so so bad.
