After years of investment, and a pretty solid rookie season, curious as to why you’d move Jankowski to the wing?

I don't see Jankowski unseating any of Monahan, Lindholm, Ryan, or Backlund for a centre ice position but Jankowski is also more deserving than only receiving 4th line ice time.

Is Lindholm a center or, like Bennett, drafted as a center but a winger at the NHL level?
Seems like Peters used Lindholm mainly as a RW, no?

I'm not sure if Lindholm was a RW who took face-offs or if he was actually a centre, or was it a bit of both? Here are his faceoff numbers.
432 wins 361 losses 54.5%
Here are Ryan's face-off numbers too.
531 wins 409 losses 56.5%

Just combing through the TSN videos on the Flames this morning. This team is jazzed. They're all exuding a vibe of excitement and confidence.
I'm getting excited for Flames hockey. this team is excited for Flames hockey. Let get rolling already.

I haven't been this pumped for a season since 2009 or so.
Following the 14/15 playoffs, I was optimistic but reserved.

FWIW I also think that Kylington and not Kulak will be taking that bottom LD spot. Kulak is solid but just lacks the upside that the younger Kylington brings. Add that to the arbitration hearing and that sours the water a bit for him and the organization. This past season was the first non-slide year of Oliver's ELC too, so the clock is already ticking on the Flames to find out what they have in him.
I was rather disappointed to see Kulak over Kylington last training camp as well. I suppose Kulak's poor showing in the preseason has more to do with dragging Bartkowski around though. Let him and Andersson work some Swedish magic together instead.
Valimaki should be a very good showing but I don't think he will blast down the doors over Kylington in a matter that will justify giving him the full season instead. You'd be then burning that 1st year and starting the timer on team control over the player. Juuso will be an NHL defenceman, a good one. He is someone you want to keep cost controlled as long as possible and there is no harm letting him get a feel of a higher level in AHL hockey.

Love these lines... this would be a really powerful forward group and I tend to agree that Kylington should get a longer look.
is he going to china with the regulars? or are the flames just taking their 19 forwards over there?

It's somewhat distressing to me how many people have Ryan, who the Flames just signed presumably in part because he's one of the better face-off guys in the league (not that I put a ton of weight on faceoff prowess, but still), on the wing.

So you have a RHS C playing RW and taking strong side faceoffs. Whats the problem here?
I bet ypu that when Peters was hired this was a key point and why we dipped deep into the Hurricanes well grabbing Lindholm amd Ryan.

I believe it was 5 forward lines, 4 defence pairings and 2 goalies. Kulak and Andersson are probably heading over (as per the video of them trying to learn Chinese) so with Stone, that would really only leave one spot for one more D. So one of Valimaki and Kylington.
