There was a miscommunication where Bill Peters told Treliving that he'd really like to get Justin Faulk in Calgary someday.

Falk: https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/12543/justin-falk
Has 269 NHL game experience

O'Brien: https://www.eliteprospects.com/playe...1/zach-o-brien
been bouncing around the AHL/ECHL for a while. Doubt he is in any consideration for a NHL deal.

I wonder if Francis has his information right on O'Brien.

The Marlies announced signing him to a contract on July 3rd:

http://marlies.ca/article/marlies-sign-seven-players

While the AHL contract doesn't prohibit him from signing a PTO with the Flames, it is just weird to see someone signed with one teams AHL affiliate attend another NHL training camp. But I suppose the promise of guaranteed ice time in a preseason game or two could make it happen.

Falk played under Peters for three seasons in Spokane and won the Memorial Cup there.

Both these guys are former Calder Cup champions (O'Brien with Manchester in 2015 and Falk with Lake Erie in 2016).

Justin Falk who previously played under Bill Peters. Not to be confused with Justin Faulk who previously played under Bill Peters.

My very first named Flames jersey donned my last name and the number 88 (I’ll be thirty this year so you do the math ) and was a gift from my big bro who had just worked all school year after school at BP washing dishes and with what he had left over from his guitar fund he chipped towards this jersey that is my single fav Calgary Flames item I have...

No one would be more excited than this guy to see Falk actually turn this PTO into a 1 year/7th D type deal and see that last name on the ice for a real Flames game. Falking awesome...(seriously I’ve heard em all so reading the puns gave me a good chuckle... also to the people who pronounce this last name like Talk or Walk or Chalk... Falk off.. I mean you fall into the K... Faaallllk. Falk. )

Oh and one more thing..... nahhhhhhh

Any smart GM would consult with his coach about players who played for him in the past
