Your population is basically at 50% strongly agreeing with each side. There will be no pleasing people whatever you choose.

I was at a Tim's today and a lady walked up to the front door, saw the sign for mandatory masks, turned around, hopped back in her truck and went through the drive-thru.

Walmart Canada making masks mandatory in all its stores Aug 12, whether there is a local government mask mandate in place or not.

Which is actually a perfectly reasonable response.
If someone doesn't want to wear a mask - no problem - that just means you don't get to be in indoor public spaces.

I agree, I should have been clearer that I see this as a positive. I certainly have no issue with people doing this.

She may have forgotten her mask or didn't have one on her for whatever reason. I like that people are taking this seriously and are, for the most part, abiding by the bylaw.

This week was great. I haven't felt this safe at work since before Covid. 90% of my customers wore a mask. Even guys I thought would push back were wearing masks. It's hilarious how it's totally not a big deal and just becomes part of your clothing like wearing a toque when it's cold. Casts an even stronger light on the stupidity of the morons that are anti-mask when you see just how easy it is to wear one.

I finally felt at peace about the whole mask thing when I went to Chicken on the Way last weekend and literally everyone inside had one on. One guy came inside without one and immediately got stink eyed by everyone who stared at him. He just turned around and left lol. When I left he was still outside and looked like he was debating whether to risk the wrath of COTW patrons and wait in line for his sweet succulent chicken, or to just give up.

Now that the cooler designs are coming out it's slowly becoming more of a fashion thing too and I'm cool with that. Saw one huge dude come out of Safeway and he had the wildest mask I've ever seen. Almost like Venom's huge smile with these chrome flames on the side. Guy looked like an absolute boss as he stepped into his jacked up F-150.

I have to say, it is psychologically comforting to see pretty much 99% mask usage. It's no longer a question of who's wearing one because everyone's wearing one (even if they wear it below their nose, like WTF people). They say "we're all in this together" but to see everyone willing to do their own little part makes me happy.

^Uh, Huntingwhale was NOT there for the fritters, unless that's code for something that I'm not aware of.

I am waiting for an employee to catch on to this and just start sending people into the basement as a joke.

Went to Royal Tyrell Museum today. It was about 10% Mask usage inside the museum. They are only letting in 250 people at a time, so there is plenty of room to social distance. Still, it felt off. Some lady up on the lookout point beside the museum was hacking away without covering her mouth, nor did she have a mask on.

Stopped at a gift store in Drumheller and we were the only mask wearers there. People were not even trying to distance themselves. We got out of there pretty quick.

The fine for violating Ireland's mask order is €2,500 ($3,900 CAD), in case it feels like our $50 fine is too much.
