If it wasn't for Mr. Stanley’s own exculpatory account I don't think the crown could have even proven that Mr. Stanley was the one who held the gun.

...and Gerald Stanley is now seeking out publishers to make a little coin off this. I guess if there's a buck to be made, then make it. Real nice.

Im guessing he has some serious legal bills to deal with and very few avenues to come up with the money other than selling his farm.

If that's the case I will retract the snark. Is there anything released on that?

Last I read, correct me if I'm wrong, but the guy is being forced to move due to the very public threats to him and his family. All the while being branded a racist because the group that tried to rob his family that day happened to not be white.
But God forbid that the person try and tell his side of the story. He's innocent until proven guilty (which never happened), that's the world we live in and I'm thankful every day for it, if he wants to publish a book and a publisher is willing to accept it, why shouldn't he?
Don't buy the book if you don't want to support him, but complaining he has the right to do so? Come on.

The guy wants to tell the public what happened that day, because the media certainly hasn't. The media largely stopped reporting on the story when it no longer fit their narrative, and when they (CBC) were called out to retract false statements they'd made previously.

It's not profiting from crime if you're not guilty.

I didn't claim anyone claimed he was, just as you have not claimed that I claimed that anybody claimed that he was.

There's actually still a case regarding gun laws before the court. It's a criminal charge that could get him a couple years.
I can't find the name of the potential publisher but I heard them speaking on the radio today and they are very much on the side of social justice. They want to publish it and then a counter book showing the other side of the equation.

Haha if he gets a couple years for improper storage of firearms well we will know where that verdict really comes from.

There's no way that trial won't be politically motivated by what Trudeau and the justice minister said after the trial, I would be surprised if there was any chance of a fair trial in that case.

I’m still waiting for the other 4 natives in the suv to be charged with drunk driving/theft/possession of a loaded fire arm and a slew of other charges
To bad Gerald could not sue CBC for slander or mis information. Same with dip#### JT and the Federal government who came rushing to the criminals defence when the verdict was not the one they wanted

Well gee, they got immunity for testifying, so you'll be waiting a long time.
And technically nothing was stolen, it's not stolen til its off the property. Would they have stolen something if they hadn't been interrupted? Most likely, but that didn't happen and is as much of a technicality as the hang fire.
And the drunk driver is dead, so not sure how you charge him.

There is evidence that they had robbed a liquor store the night before.
That would be all the booze they were drinking that day.
