If he plays on the top line all season I think he'll have a break out season offensively ~65 pts, similar to Couturier for the Flyers last season.

He'll get between 40 and 55 points.

Honestly, it depends where he plays. Not sure if he should stick on the top line or be the C on the 2nd line. His acquisition does open up a few more possibilities in the lineup especially if a guy like Neal is added.

If he plays on the 1st line I would expect 60 points, if he plays on the 2nd, I expect 50.

Hmm. The more I read the more it sounds like we maybe got a right shooting Backlund who can win face offs and has a higher offensive ceiling potentially. I almost want to keep him at center to be honest.

He sounded like he personally preferred to play center in his end-of-season exit interview.

I hope Peters tries him out at both center and wing and they figure out a fit quickly.

Dammit, I have to agree with you.

Some of you are going to be disappointed already if you expect him to get 20 more points than his previous career high. Is it possible? OK, yeah, but I think it's far more likely that he improves modestly on his career highs.

45-50 points.

More importantly I think we need to wait and see what kind of contract extension he signs at to help dictate exactly what people "expect" out of the guy.

If he signs a 4x4 and puts up 40-50 I think most people would be happy.
If he signs a 6x6 and puts up 40-50 I think most people are upset.

Either way I see him as an easy 45pts, likely pushing 60 if playing primarily on the top line and significant PP time.

Actually, the word is that he’s going to get a crack at C somewhere, and Tkachuk is going to start at RW on the top line.

Sounds like Peters likes to change up lines a lot so I get the feeling he's going to play all over depending on how the lines are clicking.

You've gotta take the OVER on both.

I mean he was drafted ahead of Monahan. So he's better than Monahan. Right? ;-)

He has a better chance than Jagr, when we had this exercise last year.
