As long as I can still change the lens, those are the most badass goggles I've ever seen.

I just hate any lens color besides lightly tinted black/purple.

EDIT: Ah just noticed the display is outside of the goggles so changing the lens shouldn't be an issue. SICK.

not a skier, but those googles look pretty cool - not surprisingly they are $600 on the oakley website.

haha, that one speed test video had Manny Osborne-Paradis in it.

Isn't he the Canadian skiier who majorly hurt himself and put his career in jeopardy by goofing around on a Stampede pubcrawl?

Yup. He is also the Canadian skier who talked a ton of smack before the 2010 olympics that he will win Canada's first gold and how awesome he was en route to finishing 17th.

Well, folks, Sunshine's at it again...

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmont...g.html?cmp=rss

If you're not aware of the story, four of SSV's most senior patrollers pulled the owner's son and his friends out of a closed area and took their passes away. Being the entitled little snot that he is, the kid threatened them and told them they'd "pay" for it, before promptly having his pass and ID returned to him at the bottom of the hill and allowed to continue skiing. The patrollers were subsequently fired - including one of the patrollers' nephew, on the basis that "blood is thicker than water" - and a number of other employees protested. This got two more fired, when they called in sick. The result as many will know was the support ski patrollers site, the sunshine village watch site, and a whole bunch of anti-SSV sentiment on social media and facebook. It also resulted in a 400-some-odd thousans wrongful termination lawsuit. More details here in the affidavit of one of the terminated employees: http://ramzee.net/Files/AffidavitChevalier.pdf

Now as a result of all the negative press this has garnered, they're saying they lost revenue and are suing the patrollers (as well as a bunch of John Doe's identified only by their website monikers) for defamation. Pathetic.

Just another reason to vote with your wallet and ski anywhere but Sunshine Village. Go to Louise. It's a better hill anyway.

^^Yeah, they took it down, I am told as a response to this.

^Some of the #### that comes out in that affidavit about the kid makes me think the patrollers deserve a medal for having the restraint not to do the rest of the world a favour and kick him in the balls with their boots on so that no future generations of this scumbag clan are produced.

So I ended up buying a demo pair of these:

http://www.evo.com/imgp/1500/35147.Image.1.jpg

For $400 and picked up these boots:

http://shop.tecnicausa.com/Product/0...hoenix-120-hvl

I have wide/flat feet and boots have always been the death of me, but these are sooo comfortable.

I get my skis next week, I can't wait to get out on the hill!

Ski race training cancelled because of too much snow.

The Lake Louise Ski Area

(Wasn't sure if this should get shoehorned in here or it's own thread. My apologies if I made the wrong choice)

I've come to the realization that my ski buddies are either:
-married with kids
-always broke
-always working
-working opposite shifts
-living nowhere near Calgary, or
-lame

Or any combination of those. Are there any good groups/clubs to join to head out to the mountains with other people? Or good bus/weekend trip type events? All I could think of was Backside Tours or the Outdoor Club. I'm not exactly college age, so I would assume the UofC ski club is out.

Crazy opener at Kicking Horse today. Knee deep powder up top, and barely enough snow at the bottom (plus creeks to avoid...)

Kunkstyle, you might want to check out the Calgary Ski Club.

So the monkey owners of Sunshine fire the senior patrol officers because his kid is being a c***, then have the balls to sue them for defamation?

Why the hell would anyone go there? What a fatatard owner.

Anyone here try an helmet with built in audio before?

Concerned about sound quality and hearing it over the sound of wind.

Why do you want to have audio? all I can think of is heavy breathing and OH FATA as you take a big hit.
