I don't want to count chickens before they hatch.

Great to be "recognized" for a good first half but need to keep going. Will be really interesting to see what kind of fire they play with coming out of the break.

Tough february schedule, and just like last year's 7 game winning streak, they haven't played great in january but have still gotten results.

Not being a debbie downer but I think that sustaining wins and getting a larger cushion is critical here in the next month. And also improving their play to a consistent level every game.

I don't think that is an official award.

Maybe something a few people are pushing, but not something the NHL gives out.

Wow, looking down those results, I thought they all looked just about exactly what I would have thought they should be. I don't think I have ever been in such agreement with the actual voters before.

You could certainly argue that LIndholm should be ahead of Stone, but Stone has a better track record. No surprise at the top 2, and Cs are always going to lead the way.

Goaltenders don’t typically provide enough offence to win a hockey game by themselves.

That right there is why Gibson shouldn't win the award.

Lazy bugger, needs to score more goals!

Lindholm has three issues - he's a winger, he's not as well-known (it's largely a rep award) and, when the Flames play top lines, it's usually Backlund that gets the assignment.

This one is hilarious.

"Player A tore his ACL last year, Player B had leukemia. Player C just played like dog shart last year but now he's back to being a regular contributor. And the winner is..."

I can't argue with much on that list. Trotz has been amazing, and I think more people expected Calgary to at least be a PO team, unlike the Isles.

If anything you could debate Hart and whether both Kucherov and Gaudreau have too much of a great "supporting" cast. Johnny is getting passes from a Norris favorite and passing to a Byng candidate.

On the other hand, how is McDavid helping his team find success? I guess you could say they'd be a no brainer bottom feeder without him, but on that standard, look at what Gibson is doing.
