Anyone else watch that video and think the kid was waaayyy too cocky? He was making completely unnecessary moves and showing off. Also felt like he was trying to embarrass the opposition too.
No doubt he has some amazing skills, but he was acting like a bit of a ###### in that game. If I was his coach, I would tell him to stop being a dick and reign it in a bit.

It is interesting to see an 11 year old with great skills dominating other kids his age. What can he do against older kids? What can he do when playing against any higher caliber of competition? Don't get too excited about this guy until he is older and shows that he can hold his own against higher levels of competition.

Too late I already ordered my custom Aito Flames jersey from Costco!

Thing about leagues like that one - there are widely varying skill levels.
I even see it in Calgary. In my kid's division, there are 12 PeeWee teams. So the players are close in ability on each team. But this means that the Pee Wee 12 team (the bottom one) plays teams from other divisions with way less Pee Wee teams. So if they play the bottom team from an area with only 6 teams, that team's best players probably would have made my division's team 9 or 10 (and are therefore way better). This shows up in goal a lot.
There's also some occasions when a kid misses evaluations and gets put on an entirely wrong team.
All that to say - this kid might not be able to do that against a Calgary area PeeWee 1 team.

Yeah, from what I remember with kids hockey there are many players who can skate circles around inferior opposition which this looks to be. I'm not saying he isn't good but he needs to play against top opposition to get a read on him.

That said, he is a smooth skater, and confident with the puck. He'd do well at a higher level of Peewee in Calgary. The speed of the game seemed much slower though. The level 1 PeeWees I've seen are incredible skaters. Way better than me, anyway.
