Boston's anthem singer is an annoying twerp. But that has nothing to do with his being a male.
As far as Canyon goes, I'll give him a shot. But agreed with others. Leave the fake twang with Country 105.

He has already sang the anthem at the saddledome, anyone remember it?

It was a little tongue-in-cheek -- whenever I think of the Flames anthem singer I think of a female (Susan Smith, Heather Liscano). I've never heard of this guy personally but based on his background I'm sure he'll do a good job...

Looks like he is going to go with the Canucks version where the crowd sings it.

I will admit defeat and acknowledge the 3rd jersey if they bring Scorchy back.

It's about 45 minutes to Calgary so maybe an hour and 15 minutes after a Flames game assuming he stays and watches the game.
That's not too bad. Some spend more time in traffic going to work in Calgary from Airdrie.

No, I mean he could be touring a lot. Who sings then?
Art Bergmann also lives around Airdrie. He should be the back-up.

God kill me now.
I'll trade Giordano and Brodie for a non-country singer.
I'd prefer a bad singer over a country singer.
Please. Anything else but horrible country singers.

Country music, much like Edmonton, is simply no good. I suppose the obvious question is which is less good? Edmonton or Country Music? (Obvious answer: Country Music from Edmonton)

But isn't a country singer a bad singer?

This is very much in line with the 3rd jerseys in terms of thinking. It feels very old-man-on-the-Stampede-Board-approved where it just seems a little out of touch with the city of today.
If you're going to do country, at least do someone the Corb Lund vein (I know he's not a Calgarian) where there is some crossover, and something the youths might appreciate.
