So far no discussion about it, but the Tyson/Jones fight tomorrow. What's everyone's thoughts? Personally I've been loosely looking forward to it and watching some of the training videos and thought they really became fit in these clips, then I see today's weigh in and Tyson is about 25 pounds overweight, and Jones maybe 20 pounds overweight. I look at that and anything is essentially possible because Jones will want to take it the distance, and Tyson knowing what his bread and butter is will want to end it early, but I can see both guys being so gassed they won't want to commit out of getting scared to gassing themselves. So I could see it being super super lame early on, Tyson realizing he's gotta go for the homerun or risk slowly degrading, goes for it and either connects and wins or if he does not, it'll be the lamest fight in history and will end in a draw.
I don't think either fighter has the hard nose to take one and keep going, so whoever connects will win by TKO, so my money would easily be Tyson. Jones' only bet is to make it go the mile, by ducking and backing up and making it a snorefest.

^ I’m interested in watching it, but there is zero percent chance I’m paying $50 for it. I mean really...it’s not going to be amazing.

No ko's apparently and any cut stops the fight. It's a nice trip down memory lane but there will be no official winner. In normal times, I probably wouldn't bother but there are still some competitive undercards. It is nice to just watch boxing and relax on a saturday night. Especially with restrictions on there is not much else going on.

Yeah, pretty interesting also that Nate Robinson is fighting against Jake Paul. Yes, Nate Robinson the ex-basketball player. The guy has a real athletic build, but Paul has the build, but with a foot in height advantage I'd think.
So far the event doesn't look amateur. They're trying to make it an entertainment event, with a concert and all between fights, and although it seems a little out of place because we're not used to that format, I think it looks professional.

Yeah, I think so. Seems they have screens, a professional stage for performances which isn't too large or too small, the timing for the performances has been happening right after the fight, the commentators are professional, right or wrong they're doing some social messaging without it coming across as a forced. I see a lot of good things. The intros especially look good. The cameraman thing, could be a bit better, but that's okay for him considering the other things.

And the Robinson/Paul fight starts and I can't help but laugh how silly Robinson looks. While I thought he'd be a foot smaller, I think he's still going to get mauled.

8 punches landed and got put on the mat 3 times, maybe boxing isn't for you.

This is why amateurs wear headgear. No technique by Robinson at all. Bar fightesque and he could have/be really hurt by this. Very scary.

lol...oh man, Robinson got rocked so hard. Shows how a normal person would react to getting hit, wooziness and all. When you see pro fighters get up after a few seconds, you wonder how it's possible.

Jones "I'm doing this fight for the people"
Tyson "I'm fighting for other people's future"
Just be honest, say you are doing it for the millions.

That interview was weird. The goat noises? The tone has been set at the interview, this isn't being taken seriously at all from either guy. It WILL be an exhibition.

Maybe I was wrong, but Tyson is moving damn well. Certainly for a 55 year old, but even for a 30 year old. I have to also say, having Snoop Dogg on the broadcast makes it pretty funny. Not a guy you want from a corporate brand standpoint, but in this situation where it's 50 year olds fighting, it's funny.

I like Snoop's line "This looks like 2 of my uncles fighting at the barbeque"
Jones is already gassed after 2min

For an exhibition fight it is still an exciting fight. When you get to the levels these guys have reached you have to think, they dont think exhibition. They have a different competitive mindset.

True, though Jones is just looking to escape. He's really scared (and I can't blame him).
