If Montreal doesn't make it - we could get stuck with Randorf. Hughson I'm sure will do Toronto. Randorf will get another Canadian team - will be Montreal for sure if they make it, but if not - probably a toss up between Winnipeg and Calgary. Winnipeg might end up with earlier games - so perhaps they'll throw him there.

Hrudey is better in the studio anyway. He has a ton of insight and is very well spoken. He just seems to describe the play during the game as color (not as bad as Simmer as mentioned above back in January).
Man I miss Cuthbert's calls. Rick Ball would be ideal of the current crew for the playoffs. With Toronto in it we shouldn't be stuck with Hughson. I like DeBrusk over anyone else for color.
Don Wittman was also a great call.

Yeah the audio for home games has taken a huge nosedive the last couple of games. Which is odd because I noticed that against Ottawa it was the best it's maybe ever sounded.
Compare the on-ice mics in these 2 clips:

Agreed, Cuthbert is awesome. At least NBC uses him for hockey games. Ill def be watching as many NBC sports feeds as I can.
It is a shame that he is left with the CFL for national broadcasts. What a waste of talent for the him.
If we dont get Hrudey for the playoffs, Debrusk is the next best and only option I am hoping. Unless they give Jason York some games. Otherwise, for the west broadcasts it seems to be slim pickings/options for good colour analyst talent.

Please, please, please no Randorf.... I'll listen on mute.

Ideal scenario:
TOR - Hughson
WPG - Randorf
CGY - Ball

I would expect Randorf would get the Jets series seeing RSN doesn't have a regional crew for the Jets.

I seriously can't listen to Randorf....seems like a decent enough guy but something about his pbp calls makes me want to punch babies.
Not sure if it is his voice or cadence (or what I think is a general dislike for Flames, especially against the Canucks or Oilers) but he annoys me to no end.

If we get Randorf will he tell us what a great season Pettersson had?
He is not good. Rick Ball is the best I think I’ve ever heard but maybe my memory is lousy. I don’t mind Hughson either actually.

Who did Ball work with for the Flames/Ducks series in 2017?
Ball for sure will handle the PBP duties (I would think), but not sure who the color person will be. Might end up being York or Cassie as they've done that during the season

If not Rick Ball, I would kill to have Cuthbert come back and do PBP. He was outstanding in 2004.

He called the Flames v Canucks series in 2014-2015 for the USA network I believe....it was glorious hearing him call a Flames game again. I am jealous of the teams that have TSN as there regional broadcaster and get Chris Cuthbert.
