Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Matthew Tkachuk coming in leaner in his sophomore season. Said he checked in at 195, down from 200 he was playing at last year. #Flames

More muscle, better foot speed I hope. Thanks Gary Roberts.

I like this thread. It has hockey news. Not arena news.

Keep up the updates everyone.

I'm hoping one of our older, cast aside prospects (Poirier, Klimchuk, Shinkaruk) pulls a Josh Jooris and comes flying out of nowhere, making the team out of camp.

I so badly want to see Poirier become the player he was supposed to be... we could really use that.

@Fan960Steinberg - 15m

They're officially back. First group is on the ice at #Flames training camp this morning.

I am so tired of the endless arena discussion over the past few days. Here's hoping there will be more things to talk about with players on the ice.

Sounds as if Pribyl had to limp off to the dressing room. Didn't he already have surgery on his knee?

Daniel Pribyl helped to the dressing room favouring his right leg. Wasn’t putting weight on it. Took a spill during 1-on-1 drill.

Wow. So much for a fresh new start for him with no injuries.

Are the fitness testing results typically made public?

The full results aren't. They usually just announce who the fittest of the veterans and rookies are.

Saw most of the session but my 14 month old was having trouble sitting still.
- Tkachuk looks much faster but could be the competition. He's impressive even in practice anticipated secondary aspects to the drill like another puck coming in from the coach or continuation of a dead play
- Hrivik surprised me with his speed and his one one one moves are impressive. He could be interesting to follow.
- Poirier impressive speed as we know but also has a nice quick, hard shot
- Klimchuk was better than I thought he'd be, also has a nice accurate shot
- Pribyl bad luck, I think he stepped on an extra puck while going one on one vs Gio. Seemed to be in a lot of pain and was helped off the ice
- I want to like Hunter Smith but ugh... not good

Nothing outstanding or terrible that I noticed from the goalies except it appears the flames will use Mike Smith a lot playing the puck 3 on 3.

I could try and answer any specific questions about players if you guys have any.
