No ride this morning, dentist appointment. However my drive took me westbound on Memorial (around 0710) and I was in awe of how many bikes I saw along the bow river path heading east to the core (counted about 25 from the CBC to Shag). Makes the early morning Nose creek traffic look like a range road in comparison!

Looks like just enough snow fell to hide all the icy bits from view. This should be...interesting.

The street was ok, Ctr St was wet the entire ride, no real ice problems.

Not too bad, definitely a few spots on Nose creek that had the snow hiding some crunchy bits.

Most of it was pretty good, but the 7th st luge track/pathway was no good. Fortunately someone had biked before me, and I could see in the pristine snow where they went sideways on the ice, and the splayed footprints in the snow. I wisely decided to dismount and shuffle down it. Wish the city would put a little salt down here!

The early morning ride in was pretty cool. So foggy and the moisture in the air clung to everything (bike and clothes) and slowly frosted up as the ride went on. Made for a really neat visual.

To quote a fellow rider on Strava this morning:

"I tried to bike around all the moisture in the air this morning but I mist."

It did feel extra chilly.

I also found an alternate path that is 100% plowed and cleared of ice, only a block out of the way form the 7th st luge run!

I know my commute in the morning is later than most of you guys, I usually leave my house at 7:30am, but the sun is starting to come out earlier and earlier! By the time I get to work it's nice and bright out!

I can't wait until the sunrise starts hitting during my morning commute. Although I have gotten quite used the dark, but still have merely adopted it.

I'm not really bothered by the darkness at all, now that I think about it.

I get light for my morning commute for a very short period of time. 4 months maybe? I'll have to keep track this year.

The other day I went to my lbs to spend my Christmas gift and ordered up a volume spacer for my rear shock and a couple of suspension bearing kits for my thunderbolt

That tailwind was glorious riding in, but I know payback's going to be a bitch for the ride home.

I was expecting northbound on Nose creek to suck (headwind wise), but it wasn't bad at all. Got to love the nice dry paths, with only the odd little bit of ice.

Yesterday's ride home was brutal. 40 km/h headwind for 16km. Ugh. Legs fried, I took today off and rode the bus instead.

I'm like 100% sure we pass each other on the afternoon commute (I was riding later yesterday though), of course yesterday I was enjoying that wind at my back and just cruising southbound.

I'm in the car today, but the paths looked alright with just a light dusting of snow on them.

Ya, the north wind sucked yesterday. Probably more of the same today. The light dusting was enough to hide some icy patches. Almost went down a couple times, fortunately I was going slowly at the time.

I'm on Nose Creek pathway between 3-4pm. I see the same few people everyday, maybe you're one of them?

Yup we are definitely crossing paths. I'm rocking the bright orange snowpants in the cold weather.
