The new Halloween movie looks great. Most of the older sequels are pretty terrible, so I'm ok with erasing them from canon. Although I did enjoy 2, 4, and H2O. Part 4 is actually my 2nd favorite film in the franchise and features one of the all-time great child performances from Danielle Harris.

The Rob Zombie remake was decent, but I honestly didn't need a full back story for Michael. Carpenter's original concept was much more frightening, when we knew very little about him other than the fact that he killed his sister, and that he was completely nuts.

I always remember the opening scene of the first Halloween for how creepy and scary it was

and you didn't know who the killer was and you got the shock of

I didn't mind the Zombie Halloween, but they kept hitting you over the head with Michael unmasked and they tried to explain what drives him. In the original, we didn't know, we never were going out, and the nickname, the shape, was so awesome because it made you believe the idea that he was a shape with nothing inside.

Elizabeth Berkley took on that role because she was afraid of being type cast due to her saved by the bell stint. But somehow even though she was very good looking, she was the most awkward, least sexy stripper in the history of everything.

It was a brutal movie, but she couldn't play sexy to save her life.

They've jumped even further on the nostalgia train.

I really liked Creed and this has potential. The reveal at the end had me groaning more than cheering.

I was coming in with a joke about Ivan Drago showing up at Rocky's hospital for his cancer treatment and knocking him out.

This somehow is worse on the level that everything in the Star Wars universe is connected to the Skywalkers worse.

Overall it looks good, but man.
