I’ll feel bad for McMonochrome when he finally cracks while standing alone in his gym after his jump shot hits the ceiling for the thousandth time.

“I paid millions of dollars for this!?!”

Maybe the guy just loves to be miserable.

I think this is the place.

You can see Katz's hovel just to the SE. I wouldn't want to live that close to my boss. Imagine Daryl just "popping in"?

Street view is old.

I was not going to post that, but yes, probably.

Valleyview drive has a pile of (ex)oilers living on/around it.

I can't understand why they didn't choose a house that actually overlooks the river valley. They had unlimited money and they chose a property that's boxed in by neighbors? Nevermind the drab interior choices, what kind of decision making is this? lol

My only actual guess is that this house was owned by an ex oiler and it needed to move. Buchberger or someone.

I think he’s kind of like most Oiler fans between the age of birth to age 30. Misery is all they’ve ever known. So it’s just the default position.

Doesn't Darryl spend most of his time down in LA, scouting talent?

It so reminds me of wallstreet, when Buddy's new girl is an interior designer and he buys a new house and sets her to work on it. And she gets done making this monstrosity of fake pillars and phony exposed walls, and tells Buddy not to mess it up because homes and gardens was coming in to take pictures next week.

The Conna's house reminds me of that, she basically designed a really bland non functional show home. Seats on one side of the island so Conna can hold court while making home made sushi and extorting his team mates with a lets go mantra.

A non functional basket ball court where Conna can either do layups or slam dunks, but can't free throw.

Monochromatic design that sucks the soul out of you every morning. Bland non pleasurable art.

Its a show home for her, and probably designed to one day sell on the market. But its the futhest thing from a home.

Now Conna make sure you wipe your feet and keep it clean, the photographers will be here on Thursday to shoot a brochure for me.

Ha, didn't even realize at first how low the ceiling is in the basketball gym.

$100 million US and you can't even buy a decent gym. Damn.

His weight room also is very low and can't do pull-ups properly without hitting his head. Also, sport court floor in the gym is a lazy-man's flooring.

Basement of the standings, it's only natural they'd know what to do with it.

Every sitcom has a wacky neighbour that just pops in.

"Hey buddy... hope you don't mind me borrowing your sweatpants. Hot date tonight!"

Yup. And she's still full of the BS they ladled into her in design school, because actual bosses and clients haven't knocked it out of her yet.

Every 30 years or so, the undead horror of the Bauhaus style rises up from the grave to afflict the human race with its icy, soul-destroying touch. The design students are the first to succumb, because it is an easy style to learn and makes them think they are hipper and more experienced than they can possibly be at that age.

(I bet Lauren Kyle thinks Futura is the best typeface ever invented. That's part of the disease, too.)

So people go around defacing our cities with black and white rectangles, no other colours and no other shapes, building houses with flat roofs in snowy climates where a flat roof is just asking for the house to collapse, and constructing interior monstrosities like the McDeath House. Then, finally, sane people get sick of this crap and hire an exorcist to drive the horrible thing back into its tomb.

Stephen King was wrong about a couple of things. Pennywise does not use red balloons to steal children from soulless small towns. He uses black and white rectangles to steal art students from soulless big cities. But yeah, everything else is pretty much according to the program.

They didn't even put enough thought into the gym such that they didn't have to stack weights against a freaking door.

I shoehorned a gym into my basement during lockdown and I put more thought into the layout than anyone did for this one.

Can't do pullups
Can probably barely do any overhead work from the rack
Under utilized storage rack next to a bunch of dumbbells stacked against a door

Seriously!?!?!?!

And to drive that point home....is anyone aware of what this Luxurious Chateau Cost?

That basketball court is basically useless but I bet you could fit a heck of a golf simulator in there.
