Because more often than not the trailer isn't created in-house, but shopped out to a contracting firm who likely hasn't read the script or seen enough of the movie to know what the spoilers even are.

Another Simon Pegg movie. (Hot Fuzz, Paul, Shaun of the Dead...) Trailer isn't super impressive, but they're usually fun. Not necessarily the type of humour that works in trailers.

Not disagreeing, but to me his best performances are actually his voiceover work on HBO 24/7, HBO Boxing, UFC Embedded etc.
I can't imagine watching these shows without his voice.
