Default Another Person Pushed onto C-Train Tracks

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calga...rder-1.4899549

Police have charged a woman in her 30s with attempted murder and assault following what they are calling a random attack after another woman was shoved onto the tracks at a Calgary LRT station.

Police say a man and a woman were waiting for the train on the east side of the platform at the Victoria Park/Stampede LRT station about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say another woman approached from behind and shoved the first woman, who was in her 60s, onto the tracks as a train was arriving.

She suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Stephanie Favel, 35, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and breach of probation.

Same person apparently:

Stephanie Favel, 32, has been charged with attempted murder.

Police do not have a motive, but said the attack was unprovoked.

unfortunately I can't find anything on her earlier attempted murder trial which should have happened by now.

Scary since it was apparently a random attack

I walk as far from the edge of the platform as possible. I've always been kind of weird that way.

I'm not so sure it was bail or a get out of jail free gladue sentence. It would be most interesting to find out.

My co-worker's sister was driving the train, fortunately she was moving at a pretty slow pace and was able to stop or else it wouldn't have been 'attempted'.

Crazy story though, I've always stood very far back when trains are arriving just because of having this thought in my head. All it takes is one violent nutcase having a bad day and you could be dead. Sad situation.

It’s instances like this, whereby I’d have zero issues with capital punishment for the person charged if convicted.

This woman sounds like a psychopath. Why did they let her out?

"Another" Person Pushed onto C-Train Tracks? not to downplay the awfulness of this crime, but is this a growing epidemic that I'm not aware of?

I agree but we both know it's far more likely because of the previous charge she'll probably get the "not criminally responsible" treatment rather than a long jail sentence.

As for capital punishment, it'll never come back even know some people should be hanged or guillotine'd in public

He's referring to the infamous murder in the mid 2000's where that lady pushed someone into a train over drugs. She was let out and committed a bunch more dangerous crimes after.

How? How do you take everything MBates said in the other thread and STILL throw out the idea that someone can just take the easy road and claim NCR? How in the bloody hell, man?

^^Personally, I feel bad for the victims. Justice and Public safety is my only concern beyond that. This was a another repeat offender.

As for Snuffleupagus, he is frustrated with the legal system, its obviously not working for victims and the public at large. Certainly things can be done and they were done with that child killer being returned to jail from the luxury lodge after the victims and the conservatives protested.

GoFundMe launched for grandmother of eight after being shoved into path of CTrain

Quote:
That’s where 64-year old Rozalia Meichl, a mother of three and grandmother of eight, found herself Thursday afternoon when she was pushed into the path of an oncoming CTrain by a stranger — something her son, Allan Hein, said will change her life.

“She was walking before Thursday, and she’ll never walk again — I’ve been told she wasn’t supposed to come off the operating table with a pulse,” he said.

“She has no idea what happened to her. She’s using a whiteboard to write messages to us and using thumbs up and thumbs down.”.
Quote:
A recovery for Meichl is going to be a long process that will begin with a minimum four-month stint in the intensive care unit, Hein said.

“She’ll be in intensive care for a minimum of four months, but again, that could be four days — she might not even pull through this,” he said.
Quote:
Meichel, who was on permanent disability and unable to work, has no medical, or disability insurance and thus, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched.

“She has nothing — not even two pennies to rub together and if she did, she would’ve gave them to a charity,” said Hein.

The previous person who pushed and killed somebody like this was free after less than 5 years.

Yup. Then kidnapped someone, repeatedly beat them, gouged her eyes, and got 15 months for that.
