No one games for a situation like this. This was extreme to the extreme.
I think that is what some people are arguing, including his union. That’s why he is appealing.

I don’t blame him for what happened obviously, and I have some sympathy for him. Hell its even possible that he is even more ready now than most others. But you really can’t stay in the job after that.

Just an awful thing.

New Era demonstrating a depth of knowledge in an area I did not expect. Interesting.

Down the buffer tube?

The stock is a piece that fits over the buffer tube. There are various stock assemblies you can buy for AR-15 rifles - fixed, adjustable, folding, etc - all that work around the buffer tube. AR-15 pistols come without a stock and are designed to NOT be shouldered when fired. There are a number of options for pistols that include a number of arm braces that look like stocks, but are not to be shouldered. They’re fun little guns, designed for CQC, but can get expensive as you build up. They are a more legal alternative to the SBR, not requiring a tax stamp.

I don’t think it’s fair to vilify the guy. He acted how 99% of people would act.

Having said that, he shouldn’t be a police officer if that’s how he reacts. That’s not a slight against him as a person, that’s a tough job and you need to make sure you have the right people doing it.

Cops are people too. When faced with the extreme almost all people will run away from it, even those with “training”.

If the odds are somewhat 50-50 I think most cops would go in, but hearing what seems like much less than a 50-50 situation I think this cop did the right thing for him and his rookies partners life.

I don't think it was his decision though as much as it was a crippling and paralyzing fear to do anything at all.

Did he go totally silent? I thought he was the officer who directed the SWAT team to the floor the shooter was on.
