My Dearly departed Dad clued me into a lot of the old school country, George was one of Dad's top ten and I really enjoyed listening as well. A legend really.

Rest in Piece.

Don't rock the juke box.........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQMI7TksYo0 Should have gone to see him when he was in Calgary at the Jubilee a couple of years ago. Basically toured right up to the end. RIP.

I saw him in concert 4 times. He was definately one of the best. His last few trips through he was really a shell of his former self. His voice was almost gone.

I grew up listening to these guys on the AM radio in the tractor and it's kind of sad to see them go. Their music is really a dying genre of music as Nashville is choking out all of the good country musicians. Luckily they all recorded hunreds of songs.

George should never had lived this long though. He lived his life like a country song, and I guess that could be why his songs seemed to feel so real. He will be missed.

One of his more famous new songs and one of his best:

Some other great ones. There's too many to list :
