Default Kijiji Removing Tickets Section

Kijiji Canada announced they are removing the tickets section of their site, pointing users to StubHub instead as an option. They said the move to digital tickets has created difficulties in verifying the accuracy of the tickets.

I'm not a fan of this move as I've bought tickets on there for Flames games and concerts, and StubHub prices suck. eBay owns Kijiji and StubHub so they likely make more money off StubHub than Kijiji.

I guess this CP forum will become even bigger for buying Flames tickets

seems that there are now a couple of other competitors to stubhub - gametime (i think). i have never compared prices/fees/guarantees etc.

This is extremely disappointing. I used to use kijiji to list, because the fees through ticketmaster (or stubhub) were insane. I could also find a broader audience than calgarypuck, which I usually list through as well.

There are a lot of ticket scams on Kijiji (e.g. people e-transferring money but never receive a ticket, bogus bar code, etc.), so I think in general it is a good move.

But then, I despise the likes of Stubhub and Ticketmaster for their "service charge." I was looking to buy a $30 ticket, but why am I being charged an extra $12.50 for "service fee????"

I've sold a few concert tix through kijiji and people are so gunshy and it sounds like it's pretty easy to be taken advantage of. I haven't been screwed but the transactions are usually a lot of hassle.

I guess the big corps just get richer.

Big news for guys like tiktiks and fansfirst -- hope they can get a bump in business as a result.
