Default Into The Badlands TV Series: AMC

It's a Martial Arts TV series! Yaaaaaaay!

The journey begins on Nov. 15th.

Into The Badlands is a TV series about a Man and teenager who travel through hostile country in search of enlightenment. Kind of sounds like a Kung Fu story, Grasshopper. This is a world with no guns, and only the best swordsman can live, which sounds a lot like Highlander... Except the live forever part.

There are only 6 episodes.

I'm really looking forward to this. Looks crazy, seems AMC does the 6 episode first season with a lot of new shows.

I want to be interested in this, the fight scenes look good, but the acting and sets and story just scream low-budget Syfy channel schtick. In the previews, at least.

Quinn (The Baron) was the only decently acted character in the first episode (actually, he was quite good). Everything else, from the writing, production, and direction was very cheesy and cliche.

The only chance it had was the fight scenes, and they were corny. It's unfortunate, because I think the premise is strong and possibly interesting enough to gain some momentum.

Unfortunately, it has not started well.

I actually liked the first episode. I thought the fight scenes were pretty well done, not nearly as cheesy as they could have been. You're right though, Quinn so far is the only character I'm too interested in...and possibly his wife. Sunny...meh.

So far I'm enjoying the show. Characters are a bit one dimensional but this is kung fu porn so make room for the fight scenes!

The Widow is about the sexiest woman alive. Her opening fight scene in ep 2 was fantastic, and "eyebrows" needs some acting skillz but has some nice fighting finesse. The main Baron is a bit one note, but still entertaining and Sunny is very fun to watch. There is a lot of impressive athletics in this show.

If they can flush the characters out with some depth then the show would be amazing.

I just watched the first 3 episodes yesterday, and I'm a fan. The widow is hot.

I'm not minding it, but on the promo for the next episode they referred to 'this season of Into the Badlands'. I was under the impression that the story would be completed in these 6 episodes. They seem a little desperate in promoting it, using even in-show teasers "Later, on this episode of Into the Badlands", and showing some sort of fight scene as if the non-fight scenes are thought to be too boring and people will turn it off.

I think it has promise, but the scenes involving MK acting like a petulant brat really bother me.

I like it a lot. The storyline isn't great, but I don't really care. Its mindless, over the top violence. Basically as soon as I watched the first fight scene in the first episode, when he literally pulls his sword through one guy and then stabs another I thought it was great.

pretty much how I view it too. Kind of like Spartacus, plus hot chicks. If only it had the boobs that were in Spartacus it would be a 5 star show.

I think it is cancelled and there are only two episodes remaining. I've watched all of them up to this point, so I will watch those last ones, but truthfully, it's a little lacking for me now. I don't know what it is, or isn't, but I'm just not really into the story line. It's just not captivating for some reason.

Warrior is another show with lots of high grade martial arts and good production values that just started up for all you watchers after cancellation. It was a series Bruce Lee trying to get made before he got killed and involves the same team that made Banshee and Justin Lin of Fast and Furious fame.

Seems like a lot of loose ends to tie up in the final episode, but I guess the killing can take place quickly and they can move things along from there.
