Wow. Shocking. Such a huge part of the 80s music scene and beyond. Crazy.

The one sucks. I never had a chance to see him in concert, and always assumed I would have a chance one day. I was told he was fantastic when he was on. Such a one of a kind artist.

In the early 90's it was reported he had 10 or so completed and unreleased albums. By now its probably much more. Watch that Kevin Smith video, he was known to hold back releasing things.

haha maybe, but he was never one to not just release everything he made. At least it seemed that way

"The Love Symbol Album" is another classic and a personal favourite (along with "Dirty Mind" album.) Lots of hits like "My Name Is Prince" and "Sexy M.F." "Cream" is another memorable hit.
If you can find the video for "Darling Nikki", that's full of awesome.

Didn't the famous Charlie Murphy/Rick James story go down at Prince's mansion? I bet there are a ton of great Prince stories that we'll get to hear now. That guy led a great life.

24 Rumours about Prince:
http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/..._s_career.html
hahahaahaha:
12. He Talked Trash About Michael Jackson's Ping-Pong Skills
Prince’s former sound engineer David Z told a story about Prince's attempt to play ping-pong with Jackson while the two were recording at the same L.A. studio. “You want me to slam it?” he recalled Prince asking MJ. He did not. “Michael drops his paddle and holds his hands up in front of his face so the ball won't hit him. Michael walks out with his bodyguard, and Prince starts strutting around like a rooster. ‘Did you see that? He [Jackson] played like Helen Keller.’”

This is the second celebrity death that comes to mind that I feel sad about. Its weird to see artists you "grew up with" dying. It makes me realise how short life is and while I realise how trite that is, it still makes an impact.

Odd that both Prince and Gary Shandling were known for having two of the best basketball pickup games at their homes. I've heard stories of celebrities trying to get into both but not being invited.

It's also weird that Vanity died earlier this year, right? I think they were the same age.
