Default January 15 with thirteen games!

It's been a while for a jam packed Saturday OOT. Sportsnet and TVA Sports have a tripleheader going.
This should be fun to watch along with checking on the NFL playoffs!

Tom Wilson scored 4:35 into the game and that has been it for scoring as the Capitals have held on to the 1-0 lead for the rest of the game. There are four minutes left in regulation time and Vanecek is closing in on a shutout.

Team still looks 100 times better on their losses than they did in their wins under Green.

Top guys don't score, team don't win

What do you think is wrong with Elias.
17 points in 37 games.
I say that not to poke fun. I'm a big fan of him. I thought he was going to be emerging right into the tier of best young players in the game alongside Jack Hughes, and others.
instead he's just taken a massive step back and I can't figure out why.

13 goals in a game and a half for Florida, fun days for Cats fans.

There are a lot of rumours out there about some personal life things he's battling right now. But if we are going to assume those are just rumours, his slump just isn't totally shocking and I think he did #### himself this off-season. Holding out after having an already extended time off after his previous season was shortened by the covid stoppage. He played barely any hockey over almost two full years. And coming out from his injury, by all accounts (including his own) put way too much focus into building a social media profile instead of getting everything back to working order. He's a player who relies on instincts and slick puck skills and an extended time off can dull both of those. I think he came in and couldn't keep up or play at a level he wanted and now his confidence is shot. I think the bigger issue is he just doesn't have that doggedness for the puck that he did in his first seasons.

8-1 Florida. With still time to go.

Their offense on home ice is insane.

9-1 Panthers

Fans have been chanting "we want 10" for a while now. Perhaps they get their wish.

edit:

9-2 now for the Panthers.

It's kinda weird seeing Barkov with only one point, Huberdeau with two. Shows you how many offensive weapons they have.

4 lines that can all score. That's AFTER they sent Tippett down to the minors to work on some things. Joe Thornton isn't playing and both Noel Acciari and Mason Marchment are out with injury.

The team is scary deep at forward.

But it's not just the forwards. ALL their defenseman other than Gudas are puck carrying offensive-minded guys:

Ekblad, Weegar, Forsling, Montour, heck...even Juolevi and Carlson can skate and move the puck.

The only caveat is that there's not much on the farm. This is pretty much it, so you just hope injuries don't become an issue, but with their low-contact style, I don't see that being an issue anytime soon.

So what's the deal with Mamin? I'm not watching the game tonight but it seems lately every time I watch Florida play he stands out in a positive way. Seems like he should racking up a few points here and there but again tonight he has nothing. Is it just a matter of time? He looks to have some skill.

He's big, can skate, and has skill, but he's inexperienced for the NHL level. Also, not the strongest defender. Pretty raw talent overall, but he's taken big steps since I first saw him play. I thought he'd be back to Russia quickly, but he's impressed and I think he could be a dark horse to break out in a year.

But seriously, take Lundell in your pool next year. He's going to be a big, big player. He's just 20 years old, but is already a strong 2nd line center and plays both ends of the ice very well. Already has 23 points in 34 games in his rookie season.

Yeah I like Lundell a lot. Another first rounder that the Panthers look to have made a great pick.
