I wonder if someone will take him with retention after he does a year of penance in the AHL?
Philly maybe?

Any chance he fails to report to the AHL?
Then the contract can be terminated by the Sharks, Kane can declare bankruptcy and then start over as a free agent. I have a feeling some team would take a chance on him at a much lower cap hit.
Or maybe he's just burned all his bridges and is done and is off to the KHL/Europe.

yeah I don't see him report to the AHL. I'd expect him to be KHL bound ... his NHL career is surely over.

I’m sure he’ll take out a loan for a private jet, never pay it back and hardly report to any games.

He'll do it for the cash. Not like he saved his money

I dislike that as a result for the Sharks. They knew what they were getting into (or should have).

Being assigned to the AHL is actually a pay raise (players assigned to the AHL don't pay Escrow).
So I can see him reporting.

He's gotta be going through some mental health things. I've met him in person and you would think he's one of the nicest guys, it's too bad.

Ken Holland (via 100% Kevin Lowe) will be calling by the Olympic break will be calling to try and salvage the Oilers death spiral which will be in full effect by then.
Because a month or so in the minors will make all his past transgressions and toxic selfish attitude, go away for a team that desperate. And it will take a while to have the league terminate his contract, so Kane can get league minimum.
