I have no experience with something like this.
The 10+ dashcams I've wired in have all been to the fuse box.

Point taken, I need to do more digging on how to run to the fuse box without it looking like ass. I did one on my kid's car and it turned out terribly.

Not saying it wouldn't work or isn't a good idea, just that it looks like something I'd wire up myself, not for sale!

I always tap the mirror for my radar detector in my cars. Never had an issue. I'd go for it.
